It was really close and you can make a case for both guys. Collazo could get the nod because of the point deduction and near knockdown in 1st round. Berto could get nod because he landed the harder shots and won more rounds in the second half of the fight which stays in judges minds when making close decisions. But fights this close the challenger usually does not get a decision, you have to take it more clearly. I would have scored the fight a draw.
I missed a couple rounds the first time I watched it, didn't score it either and thought Collazo won. But though even after watching it completely for 2nd time
Initially I had it 6-6, but looking back I think Berto did enough to win the first round making it 7-5 for Berto.
I finally scored this (I'm slow): AB LC 9 10 10 9 9 10 8 10 10 9 10 9 10 9 10 9 9 10 9 10 10 9 10 9 -------------- 114 113 Very good fight, but to me Berto won it if you break it down round-by-round.
7-5 Collazo not including the 10-8. Everyone knows Collazo won that fight and should get a big fight before Berto. Just like Barrera getting NAZ after the Morales fight.
7-5 Berto atsch O wait your from Philly! that explains a lot. Hopkins beat Calzaghe and Cunningham KO`s Haye right?
The first time i had it 8-4 Berto, giving him rounds 2,4,5,6,7,8,11,12 The second time I gave round 4 to Collazo. 7 rounds to 5 for Berto. btw that point deductin was a travesty.
