Anybody else think RJJ is a big waste of time for Calzaghe right now?

    It does virtually nothing for his legacy and there is a much better option that would probably become available by the time he wants the fight.

    If he fights and beats Pavlik he has beaten 2 ring mag linear champs in his final 2 fights, as well as being the recognized champ of a 3rd weight class at the same time (super middle). This, or fight a top 10 guy with nothing more than contender status and big question marks surrounding him (age, 2 big losses...)

    I don't really see how fighting RJJ would be worth all that much more money, either. His recent fights sold like ****.

    his recent fight sold 500k ppv buy which was 2x if not 3x more then what KP sold. granted tito was on the card but if they fight they can make it big **** even Cathrine Zeta-jones was at the fight . **** belive me it wasn't cuz of hopkins.

    Chad Dawson after he beats Tarver:good If not then probally go after Roy sure. See if Roy's handspeed can still bother him perhaps although I think Joe wins a wide UD, possibly late stoppage.

    sure, but any Calzaghe fight in the UK is gonna be a huge event. That fight only sold because of Tito, which you already knew.

    yeah, but how is this enough to get a boxing fan excited about the fight?

    I wouldn't doubt that a Pavlik fight would be worth more at this point anyways.

    This fight just doesn't interest me at all. I guess I'd watch it, but really, what's the point? I'm seeing threads and posts that make it seem like most of you guys want to see this.

    If Joe wants his legacy to be "I beat the best of the 90's, at the end of the 00's" - Then sure.

    It's a good fight for Joe. He's getting old and RJJ is shot. Big name, good money what's not to like?

    Oh please this fight will at least be pretty close.
    JC would destroy Kelly Pavlik and make him look one dimensional.
    People overrate Pavlik based on his fights with Taylor, Miranda and Zertuche.
    2 of those 3 are bums with Taylor being a very unfocused fighter.
    JC would slap Pavlik all over the place since Pavlik is pretty slow.

    I see Roys speed and power giving JC problems.

    well for starters JC is suposably still the champion and is claimed to be in the top 3 p4p. So if thats the case and what his fans keep telling everyone then he should fight better fighters then guys that were great 5 years ago.
