Anybody else think the cut gave mab an honourable way out?

As in he would have taken a one-sided beating and possible Tko regardless, and this gave him a respectable get-out?

Totally disagree, had MAB not had that cut I think he would have won, the cut would have stopped anyone from fighting that night, it was disgusting.

    Based on what?

Khan was pounding him before the cut.

I don't think he would have won but we'll never know now. I'm certain he wouldn't have been stopped and it would have been interesting to see how Khan coped in the later rounds. Such a shame.

Khan just looked too fast and more disciplined than usual.

Im a huge Barrera fan but he did look like it might have been a shutout win for Khan had it carried on.

I was gutted. I suppose Barrera will be able to walk away with a bit of dignity from a cuts loss.

Well done to Khan though. Lets hope he goes on to do great things and people let off the booing a bit.

Barrera was getting his ass whipped. He didn't take the way out, the ref and doctor forced it, but the stoppage probably prevented a lot of additional needless punishment. The only way Barrera wins is if Khan wore himself out in the second half of the fight, but the speed difference was too great for Khan to get caught as it was. I still have a problem with when the fight was stopped though. They either should have stopped it much earlier, or waited to stop it until Barrera got in trouble. The cut was no worse and no more of a hindrance in the 5th than it was when it first opened. The fact that they stopped the fight in the 5th made it blatant that the ref and doctor were trying to help Khan out a bit.

I don't think the question is phrased well - it makes it sound as though MAB was looking for a way out. I don't think that's the case and I don't think you can judge a fight by its first 2 minutes.

Yeah, he may have lost and, who knows, he may have lost badly. But we don't know that and I think he'd really like to have found out. I doubt he finds much "honor" in the L.

Besides, it should have been an NC 1.

Of course you have those fights, but the point is there was nothing to suggest Barrera would have won.

didn't look like Enzo was dominating to me, that guys defense was top notch, he catch most his bodyshots on his elbow and rolled with most the headshots, looked like he was playin with Enzo, even b4 he rocked him

and i know i'm off topic but....wtf was up with him lookin so damn tired going back to his corner? homie looked like he was about to pass out aint he? :patsch

He didn't do any sparring for this fight.

He deserved to lose with preparation like that.
