I've been considering buying one for a while now but to get one that doesn't rip it costs about $150. So if I buy one I want to make sure that it's worth it. If you've used one can you please tell me what your experience was like with it and how well it helped you.
I would get a floor to ceiling ball but I don't have anywhere to set it up. Plus, my roof would most likely not support it.
I have one, i personally think its a waste of money. A double end bag is a much better option, but since you said you can't have that then i would save your money.
I've not used one, but I have a double end bag, and its my favorite part of my workout. If you can't mount it to the floor, you could use a weight to hold it down. I put a hook in a stud in the ceiling, hooked up the bag, and bought a $2.00 metal hoop that I put through the hole on a 45lb weight. Works perfectly, and I can move it or take it down easily.
I use a double end bag but if you're unable to mount one from the ceiling and you want to cop a reflex bag, consider the one that this dude is using. It's by Ringside and it seems to work surprisingly well. Avoid the cheap Everlast ones cause from videos I've seen, they look like shiite. Never used a reflex myself though. Yeah, the Ringside one was the one I was talking about that was around $150. I've also heard that the Everlast ones tear easily. I don't really see whats so great about the double end bag though. The relfex bag seems to move around more and would be harder to hit, therefore making your accuracy better.
Not sure if the reflex bag moves around more or less without trying it out myself. However I question how much control you have of its "rebound." With a DEB you can easily adjust the tightness of the cables so that the movement of the bag simulates the rhythm of your opponent. You can probably do the same thing with the reflex bag but I'm not sure how well it works. Also, the DEB set up is a fraction of the cost of the $150 reflex bag and is less likely to break down over time.
