I know Roach has more $ than I may ever have, loves his job right now, but I couldn't help to feel sorry for the guy. Seems like a great guy, but the way he was talking about when he cannot work the mits anymore, etc he sounded like after boxing his life will have no meaning, and sounds like some of those guys who end up committing suicide.
I think it's a shame in this day when people put all there time, effort, hope and joy in to just things like sports, athletics, even a job... Something that you cannot do forever. I also understand his beleifs (though I do beleive in heaven/ hell, and God), but it's very sad for a 52 year old man with parkinson, his speech is very slurred, continually getting worse, and has no hope in anything after boxing (it seems anyway).
Hopefully this guy is alright after boxing is finished for him.

Not really. He's been living a rich life for the past ten years, at least.

I have more sympathy for the factory worker who comes out of the yard aged sixty five, half deaf and with three fingers left. People in the day-to-day grind suffer far more than those in the spotlight.

    That's life, kid.

Roach wouldnt want anybody to feel sorry for him he is just that type of person, and if you have seen him in work in the gym not on 24/7 the man is resilient considering he has Parkinson s

This. I mean Roach pretty much has a sweet life. . . He's got his own boxing gym, his own stable of world class boxers, and an unlimited amount of hot girlfriends he can get. . .

Of course I have some empathy for Roach, or anybody for that matter who has a debilitating disease. . . Thus far, it's been very manageable for Roach due to him being able to afford the best treatment money can buy. .
