I don't think it enhances Mayweather's legacy at all. His legacy has already been set, the only fight that was a legacy booster was against Pacquiao in 2009. Since that fight isn't happening it doesn't matter whether Floyd fights on or retires. It's just about the money and still witnessing his skills in real time.

Best that can be made right now doesn't = anywhere close to a legendary night that will go still be revered 100 years from now.

Nobody will look back on Mayweather vs. Alvarez having been all that significant 10 years from now, let alone 100.

Funny you mentioned that. Was just thinking other day whether the Ray from Contender S1 beats the Balboa that lost to Duran in sparring.

Don't ya just love fantasy match ups?

And now it would seem that we're going to get our own real life one

This is a fight Canelo should have avoided. The old dude is going to school the young whipper snapper.

There was only 1 fight that would have compared to the likes of Hagler/Hearns, SRL/Hearns, SRL/Duran, and SRL/Hagler and that ship sailed a long time ago.

    I don't think that's true.

If it turns out to be an aesthetically pleasing fight as well as one that's close/epic and with a bit of controversy attached to it. It could turn out to be a legendary night that many will look back on years from now.

ESPECIALLY if Canelo turns out to be a p4p superstar after this bout (If he was to take a loss here)

Right now, Canelo is a MAJOR threat to Floyd's position at the top. Coming off a HUGE win in Trout. Both undefeated, both with a major fanbase.

This is a 55-45, 60-40 fight. One that I think will reach an epic conclusion.

No Leonard vs Hagler vibes man...haha. Good vibes though. You know what? Floyd is a little scared for this one. He wouldn't have it at a catch weight otherwise. That doesn't bode well for him. He's doubting himself against this young and hungry lion for sure.

It's not really though is it? It's a way of reducing risk in the fight. I don't care though, I think 152 is reasonable, but just call it what it is - a catch weight for the same reasons everyone else does a catch weight. Now both Pac and Floyd have done it, so that's one less thing for Floyd and Pac fans to whine.

No, because Canelo isn't a lifelong middleweight. He's also not an ATG.

I see where you're headed: Leonard slowed down the pace of his fight, fought in spurts, and stole rounds. He let Hagler spend energy and wear himself out.

Considering we know Floyd isn't going to stand and bang with Canelo, you're probably right.

How the **** can you determine a fighter's ATG status when they're only 22? YDKSAB.

Wait until his ****ing career ends.

    Hagler/Leonard weren't ATG's at 22 either.

    Not even close.

    As a matter of fact. Canelo @ 22 > Leonard/Hagler @ 22 in terms of accomplishments.

It wasn't until Leonard became 23 when he started beating ATGS in Benitez, Duran etc

  13. What vibes were you feeling back then??? lmao
