Anybody Got Any News On Kelly Pavlik?

Do you know if KP is leaning toward one division or the other?

Wrong -- he has not decided whether he'll come back at 168 or 175. Either way the first fight back won't be any of the titlists.

Yes -- but the schedules won't work out. Glen is fighting Cloud in August, and Pavlik intends to fight in November.

 

well then they might use librado andrade again as a stepping stone for pavlik. either that or his half brother enrique orselas.

 

I like Ornales, and I thought he beat Rubio by one round, but I'm not sure he even amounts to a good tune-up these days. Pavlik already knocked out two guys who beat Enrique.

Andrade looked pretty good when he beat Lucas a few weeks ago. That would be an okay fight that could happen. Cameron Duncan said a fight on a Bute undercard was a possibility, and Librado is very popular in Canada.

I don't think he really knows yet. It is going to depend on several things... His weight and how much muscle he continues to add, his Teams input (Cameron, his Dad, and Bob), and the division where he is able to make the most money. He plans on retiring in a couple years.

 

Assuming Cloud gets past Glen Johnson, in my opinion, that's the guy Kelly should target. Tavoris Cloud is very similar to a peak Miranda. Obviously he's bigger than Miranda, but Kelly is freaking huge compared to 2007.

That fight would not pay big money, but it could set KP up for bigger and better things. A nice scenario would be for him and Dawson to start picking off guys from the S6 while an eventual fight between them stews on the back burner.

 

The 'bad' thing about the tourney is you will have 5 (in this case 6) 'losers'. How much box office value do they have left? 175? Not brimming with fights either....

I still think Kelly needs to keep off as much 'excess' weight as he can though....

 

I just hope the kid is doing something to keep in shape. Alot more money to be made. If work doesn't beat me up too much tomorrow, Ill stop down at Southside and talk to Jack.
