Man that's some bloody ****. Had that fight taken place anytime after Holmes-Cooney, it probably would have been stopped a lot sooner.

Look at Wepner going down from a body blow at 2:45 (part 2).

 

Looks like a slip/poor balance rather than a damaging punch.

 

Agreed. Thought it was interesting though because Wepner claimed he had never been knocked down before he fought Ali. Buster Mathis supposedly knocked him down also.
