Same as a few on here I had a bit of a collection year s ago.
By the time the 2000 s had rolled round they were gone.
Which when I think about it's quite sad.

    Yes. :polutxoso:

Started in 1987, recording the Marvin Johnson-Leslie Stewart rematch. Still recording fights. Recorded the Gilberto Ramirez-Billam-Smith fight Saturday. Haven't watched it yet. (Although I know who won.)

Approaching 40 years. A true sickness. :hang

I still have a lot of VHS tapes filled with fights. A long time ago sellers on Ebay would list collections of various fighters and I bought some of those. Some of the fighters include Cuevas, Palomino, Benitez and a bunch of others. I still have them but the quality isn't the best and most of those fights are on YT now so I usually just watch them there.

Are you recording new fights on VHS? Please tell me yes. That would be kind of epic.

BTW -- watch the Ramirez - Billiam Smith fight. Great scrap. Not one you want to miss.

No, I don't record fights on VHS. ;)

I bought a DVD recorder about 25 years ago. When I got sick of buying stacks of DVDs, I switched to HD PVR.

I just plug a Roku stick into it and save the recordings on 8 TB hard drives.

You can just plug the hard drives into your TV and watch whatever you like. We have all our movies and everything on them.

The amount I used to spend on VHS tapes was nuts. I think you got a pack of three for $12. And I knew people who first started recording on Beta tapes, and those first ones were like $25 a piece (for two hours).

Crazy. I kept one boxing VHS tape for old time's sake. The rest were all converted to DVD or are saved to a hard drive. Eventually, all the DVDs will be, too. Takes time.

I read too many articles about people dying and leaving ROOMS of VHS tapes for family to sort out or toss. Best to keep it all on a portable device or two. Easier to watch, too.

I know some people already use AI to upscale their videos - and the effect is really good... What You talk about is probably a bit different, but certainly does not sound far-fetched anymore.

My main hope with technological advances is making the storage cheaper and easier. It's already much better, particulary when You compare it to an era when, as @Dubblechin wrote, VHS tape costed 25$ each (Wonder how much it would be today in real terms, adjusted for inflation)... but storing the fights on external Hard Drives, with at least one back-up - can still be costly.

Used to, got rid of all my VHS years ago. I have a few DVD sets on boxers that I bought on Ebay. Qawi and Corrie Sanders are a couple that come to mind.
