It's entitled “Sonny Liston – The Real Story Behind the Ali-Liston Fights”.
    Sounds interesting. Any good ?

Nah, but he's all over Boxing.com talking about Sonny and a lot of it is quite good. Here's his latest:

Based on what i've read I bet it would be at least ok. Buyer beware though: this guy is an unashamed apologist for Sonny, so it's likely to be less than even handed at a guess.

I read it and it is pretty book ... some new light and perspective ... the most pro-Liston book I ever read ... humanizes him ..

I've read it. Way too sympathetic towards Liston, turning him into some sort of martyr.
Maybe Sonny wasn't as black as painted but he was surely no angel. I suspect the truth lies somewhere inbetween. Its a reasonable read but needed more balance.

It was very good. Its obvious he was pro-liston..

I don't like how he kept bad mouthing Marciano. There is no need for stuff like that.

Some people just cant help it. Unfortunately not all good writers are boxing people who understand the landscape of boxing history. They explore the subject of the book thoroughly enough but at the expence of other champions. It's like writing a book about only one tree in the Amazon rain forest without a basic knowledge of surrounding plant life and trying to promote it at the expence of the entire Jungle.

The bias towards Liston gets annoying after a while but still an entertaining read
