Far from the worst scores I've ever seen. Buddy Lite didn't get much credit for the clean counters he got in though.
Yup. I thought McGirt landed the better shots. But Hernandez was obviously aggressive enough to win over the judges.
was McGirts stamina **** again? Last fight I saw was the Joval fight and i was pretty impressed, thought the kid had some talent then he drew with a bum in his last fight.
He doesn't use his height or boxing skills near enough.. he get's sloppy. He won this fight though, but he fought to Hernandez's level... a sloppy brawl.. but honestly the cleaner shots were all from McGirt. Bad decision, but no where near as bad as I've seen.
I also thought he won. First one judge had it a draw. Then, they added it up again and had a unanamious decision given to Hernandez. 96-94 twice, 96-95. Ridiculous.
I don't think McGirt was fighting very well. He fought on this dudes level. He should have established himself from the get-go instead of staying inside with the shorter guy. McGirt Sr was PISSED though.
Honestly, Mcgirt's game plan was **** and this was his own fault. He had the tools to win this fight easily, instead he fought the shorter mans fight. Its OK to do this for a round or two just to show that you can, but not the whole fight. Either he didn't listen to his dad's instructions or Sr needs to go. For the record I figured it would be close, but was really surprised by the decision.
