In a sense, yes. But Haye's management got him a title shot barely a few fights into his heavyweight career, Adamek will most likely never win a title.

I'm not hating Adamek, I'm just saying that Rahman is an atrocious choice of opponent. Adamek doesn't need any easy pickings before the toughest fight of his career, he needs a challenge, something to prepare him adequeately for the upcoming Klitschko fight. Rahman is not a good preparation fight, stay busy or not.

Adamek should be fighting a good top 10/20 heavyweight, not a shot to ****, old, has-been. This is a step in the wrong direction for Tomasz IMO, this kind of attitude suggests to me that he doesn't think he can beat Wlad, like that's a fight not worth fighting a good prepatory opponent for.

That's just my 2 cents :smoke

Sorry to go into boxing math here, but if you consider the following representative of the top of the division, when you compare the records of the current champion and top 10 Ring heavyweights' opposition since March 2009 (rankings reflected in results were the ranks at the times of the fights), he compares pretty favorably. The only guy that's been tougher on his opposition outside of the Klitschkos the past couple yaers for Adamek is Eddie Chambers IMO. That and Adamek is actually active, which is a breath of fresh air. If you do 4 fights a year, taking on a can like Maddalone is far more acceptable because the occurrance of reasonable fight per months is still good:

I heard they are grooming Manny Pacquiao to venture into heavyweight...what a better way to start than with Rahman!

All jokes aside...I hope Hasim has a good 2011, I want to see how he does against his next opponent. Hopefully more than a tomato can.

I wouldn't be surprised if they pick Mo Harris for his next opponent.

I wonder if that 5 million is still guaranteed if Rahman sparks Adamek and Chisora lands the lottery punch of the century against Wlad?

I think Adamek may elect to steer clear of Rahman. Rock's power is more so than Michael Grant, and if Grant had applied himself more through that fight I think it would have been a KO perhaps, round 12 was getting interesting.
