"... Rocky won't fight at all. There was an opponent Rocky turned down and it's not so easy to find somebody at the last minute who is acceptable to all the parties involved, the networks and the fighters
The managers for Rocky were actually on board but it was really Rocky who turned it down"..........Golden Boy CEO Richard Schäffer

I think it was Clubber Lang but then at that press conference, for the unveiling of the statue of him outside Philli Art Museum Clubber confronted him and no way was Rocky gettin disrespected infront of Adrian like that

Prime Lang would dominate division this days.

Maybe he should try to make a comeback.

You didn't know that it's you Santiago... You're boxer Mario Santiago, right? ... Rocky Juarez don't want to fight a southpaw boxer like you, on short notice when what he's training/preparing for is an orthodox boxer... :D

It's alright... I thought you are Mario Santiago, the southpaw boxer from Puerto Rico whom Rocky Juarez just recently turned down... :D

It seems widely forgotten that he retired and gave up his belt when Union Cane became his mandatory, Balboa clearly ducked him.

I assume you mean Rocky Juarez. Option #1 was Daud Yordan, who turned down the fight because he was stuck in Indonesia. Option #2 was Matt Remillard, but HBO turned him down. Option #3 was Mario Santiago, who Juarez turned down because he hadn't trained for a southpaw (which makes a lot of sense, and it's hard to blame him for that).

"Well Rock lets... Well let's put it this way. Three years ago you were supernatural. You was hard and nasty. You had this cast iron jaw. But then the worst thing happened to you that could happen to any fighter. You got civilized. Don't worry kid. You know presidents retire, generals retire, horses retire, Man o War retired, they put him out to stud. That's what you should've done, retire." - Mickey
