Dumb logic and wishful thinking. He can fight whomever he feels like fighting. For a belt or for no belt. Just like all the rest of the HWs. What Peter was willing to do and what his capabilities permitted were quite different things.
All of 'em going down, Going down, Samuel Peter. It didnt work that way thou...:-( Sam kinda hit the wall when he ran into Klitti Bros, but that's no shame after all! Damn.. Samuel Peter was really a character... I hope Sam has strengths to come one more time.. Just one, the Final Run Sam, I know you can do it. :thumbsup Samuel Peter- Eye Of The Tiger:good
Nah. Even when he was unbeaten and comin up I never bought the hype on Sam. Dude is done as a top HW.
I remember Suge Green saying after seeing a picture of Vitali training that he was "practicing clinching" and was going to fight Peter like Wlad did. He could not have been more wrong there were maybe two clinches the whole fight. How bad do you have to be to lose every second of every round against a guy that has cronic injuries and been out of Boxing for four years? Pretty damn bad. Peter is a joke who was carefully matched by Duva against Glass Jawed fighters early in his career to look like he was worth a crap.
Sam Peters still has all the talent in the World. The guy can box, punch, has a great chin. The problem is he has a worthless trainer that has lead him out of shape, and has not improved his skills. We all thought we were looking at Sam Peters Heavyweight Era, but he got off track. He needs to get back to were he was when he outpointed James Toney twice.
No. People like to talk a lot about him not being in shape, but frankly, I would be shocked if he ever came in under 250 ever again. And I'm not sure why others expect him to. Being able to train hard and keep in shape all year round is part and parcel of boxing, and I don't think Peter has it.
