How the Jermain Taylor apologists are slowly creeping out of their little dark, secluded, holes as the fight comes closer.:yep

You'd think they would have learned the first time around, but now even without the intense training camp that Steward put him through and with Pavlik not having to drain down in weight as much, resulting in a stronger Pavlik who is not going to make the same mistake of dropping his hands like he did in the first fight, they are starting to say such things as -

'You know, I think Taylor will get it this time, without that fraud Steward'

'Bet the house on Jermain Taylor'

'I'd still pick Taylor to beat Calzaghe or Kessler after he gets revenge against Pavlik'

'Taylor just got caught, I mean, Pavlik hits hard, he'll fight smart this time and win'

You wonder if half of these clowns are just embarassed Hopkins fans excusing two close fights against nothing more than a flawed B level fighter, but either way, they are starting to bubble up to the surface again.

Soon enough, the second crushing KO of Jermain Taylor will end whatever little spark is still in the Taylor apologism group.:yep:yep:yep

There is a surprising number of fans who think Taylor will turn the tables on Pavlik but i just can't see it.Pavlik has improved fight by fight and i expect him to come in this fight better and stronger than before. Will Taylor improve?
I think he will fight smarter by not mixing it up with Pavlik but in the end Pavlik will catch up with him for another brutal KO around the 9th or 10th

they're both flawed amsterdam mate, it's just that taylor is more flawed than the ghost. once they eventually both move up to 168 and beyond it will become painfully evident. :yep

that is providing of course that jermaine doesn't call it quits after his next starching.

Don't get me wrong I am a Pavlik fan and want to see him pound Jermaine again and I believe that he will.

But everyone is smearing Jermaines face in the mud like he is trash all of the sudden. That fight was seconds away from being called in the second round with any other ref than smogger. Jermaine gets a huge win with an early TKO of Pavlik and everyone is on his nuts again, this was very close to happening. SO why is he all of the sudden a "B" level fighter when his only loss came from a great boxer??

The main thing I am reading, and the thing I believe those picking Taylor are looking into are adjustments. People are saying he will adjust to Pavlik's style and wont make the same mistakes which led to his loss in the last fight.

The problem with that is Taylor is NOT a cerebral fighter that makes adjustments. He has had the same flaws/vulnerabilities since his early days as a professional...

    Keeping his left hand low
Telegraphing his punches (especially the right hand)
Backing up in straight lines when he is hit
Too easy to hit with jabs/right hands (although Pavlik is very weak defensively too)
    Doesn't have great stamina

I don't see Ozel Nelson making a difference. Maybe he will feel more comfortable working with a trainer he has known most of his life, but come fight night, I expect his confidence to be much less than it was during the first fight and I expect him to be more tentative. Pavlik will make adjustments though and I highly doubt he gets dropped again. He will stay behind the double jab and cut the ring off against Jermain. The weight increase will help Pavlik more than Taylor because from all accounts, Pavlik had a tougher time making 160. Definitely expect a stronger and better Pavlik this time around.

Unless Taylor finally starts fighting and not being scared Pavlik will beat him again.

I have a gut feeling that Taylor will win impressively, I think by KO. I am not a Pavlik hater, but I do not agree with some of the ridiculous hype he gets from many on this site. He is very good, obviously, but he has a shaky chin, can be outboxed and is not the ATG puncher he is made out to be. Guys like McClellan, Benn and Jackson were just on another level.

Taylor, while you may not like it, is a very good fighter. For whatever reason, he lost impetus and form fighting Hopkins, I dont know why. But he still has the tools to beat Pavlik, he can, (and probably will) outbox Pavlik for as long as he has energy. And he does have the power to KO Pavlik as well, that much is clear.

Case and point. Amsterdam has no crediblity on this subject as well. If B-hop cracks old calslappy falling in and drops him that is a morale victory for me. He might get out pointed. Calzaghe is getting put on his ass this fight. Mark my words. JT fought scared, when he had Pavlik hurt he did not know how to follow up. He lost his confidence AFTER the BHOP fight. He may of gotten the victory but JT has not been the same fighter post Bhop. For some reason or another.

  10. Taylor has a chance like the nearly KO in their 1st fight but Pavlik exposed him as a sub par champion just as Joe will Hopkins.

Annoyingly Taylor will always get biased judging so Pavlik will have to KO him or utterly dominate him start to finish.

This Taylor hate does not make any sense to me whatsoever.

Taylor fought Hops twice, Winky, Oumma, had a shitty match against Stinks, then he fought Pavlik in one of the best fights of 2007. . . now he's ignoring those who would rather him wait for the Pavlik rematch and he's saying "fukc it lets fight".

Taylor has the kinda warrior spirit that boxing needs more of.

The Slapper is going down. He is going to get taken out by a senoir citizen to show he was never on the level of ANY of the guys that actually fought each other and proved there greatness.

when/if he wins, will you give him his dues?
