Anybody sense some hometown bias in the Olympic boxing judging ?

I wouldn't worry too much about MMA, it has been "rising" and boxing has been "dying" for about a decade now, and there hasnt been much of a change. The first MMA event I watched was UFC 40, Shamrock Ortiz 1 back in 02, ****, a decade ago. I gathered quite a collection of MMA DVDs since that time, but havn't followed it in quite a few years. Once it started to become the "in" thing and every ****er under the sun thought they were the bees knees because they started watching MMA, I fell out of love with it, that, and the arrogance of new MMA fans/ grapplers getting a big ego because their boring sports now had an outlet (I understand grappling, that doesn't mean it still isn't be incredibly boring most of the time).

Boxing will always have a very deep fanbase and it will take more than MMA to stop that. MMA taking over boxing has as much merit as Audley Harrison claiming he can still win a world title. Big talk for years...but no substance behind it.

Oh, not to mention Joe Rogans pompous droning and the terrible standard of the striking.

In terms of home cooking, I think the Joshua decision is the only really dodgy one.

How is this different than what goes on in the Pros in the UK? They love to stop fights against the ropes when the hometown fighter is throwing harmless flurries. :rofl:patsch

The judging is just as bad also.
