I think he is going to have a very good chance. Floyd's pot shotting tactics are going to be difficult to implement vs. Miguel IMO. And we're not exactly sure how much Mayweather actually has left, the Ortiz fight was hardly a good barometer of his sharpness. Saying that Floyd's surprised me before by fighting in a different style and still being able to dominate. And I picked Cotto to beat Pacquiao too so maybe I'm well of with this one. But I'd really like to thing Miguel has what it takes to pull of the upset in this one. A warrior and a great person too it seems. WAR COTTO!!! :happy
I hope Cotto pulls it off but I just can't see it happening. Floyd's reflexes are just too good to be caught significantly by Cotto and I see Floyd stopping him late on more out of tiredness than anything, Hope I am wrong though
If there is any chance of Cotto beating Floyd ever, then its now. Under the supervision of Pedro Diaz this is Cottos primetime. I do really rate this guy. And his training methods are second to none
good fighter cotto hope he can do it but just see floyd being to clever and winning by ud, think cotto will do well first few rounds for floyd to come on strong
As someone who has never really 'got' the Cotto love, Mayweather will win wide. In fact, Cotto will start to back peddle late on, and may well be stopped.
Also, Floyd still showed enough against Ortiz and Mosley to show me he's not on the decline, or at least that he has way too much for Miguelito. He's throwing more punches than he did from Welterweight through to even Marquez, where he should've stepped it up IMO. I think he'll lay a lot of sharp, accurate leather on Miguel, mark him up, and Cotto will fall apart under pressure (and the heat Floyd will bring in this fight will be enough for Cotto to be very unsettled IMO) like he's known too. He has to win the first few rounds to get on the cards IMO. Because Floyd will boss it as soon as he gets into a rythym. What can Cotto do to bother Floyd? Since the second half of Mosley two he's settled into being a jack of all trades and master of none. He's good but not brilliant at anything, although he is of course still one of the best fighters of the last era (and still one of the most complete fighters today IMO) I love the guy, one of my favourites. He's been in some wars and out of his best weight. His last two opponents have been come forward fighters with no defence well past their sell-by date. Don't let the hype get you. There are many reasons Floyd has picked Cotto, a serious challenge is not one of them.
