I've never even heard about this new Cuban HW prospect before and this is my first time watching him.

He looks like a 3rd rate southpaw HW version of Gamboa. He should have had this Polish guy out in the first round, but he still can't finish him and the fight is about to end. Nothing to get overly excited about, but he's an interesting prospect in a currently pretty weak division. Does anyone know more about Perez? He's 22 and looks like he could get down to CW if he loses some weight. It was funny to watch him, he acts and fights similar to Gamboa.. just a lot sloppier and not so destructive.

I wasn't impressed. He was very lethargic tonight. He has fast hands and supposedly good power but it was hard to tell from this fight.Even the commentators were wondering what the hell he was doing

That's not the opponent to do it against. I haven't seen his other fights, but he didn't look good tonight against this F level opponent. It's not surprising to already see other posters interested in him (poster David Tua's new thread), but in reality he's nothing much to get excited about. It was just funny to see how this guy tries to act so much like Gamboa, intentionally or not.

Most 22 year old heaveyweights are not ready to take on the best even if they have the exstentive amature background that most Cuban's have.
