    Weighed in at 273 pounds.

People harp on Arreola, but seriously... the **** is that? Not a good weight for a 35 year old heavyweight.

The weight isn't even the main issue... I like Browne and his rise to the top of the AU boxing scene is a feel good story, but we're talking about a guy that some feel was run close by James Toney.

It's also completely glossed over how he was stopped by two mediocre strikers in another fighting discipline, MMA. Stopped twice within 8 fights, one of those stoppages being in late 2010...

Again, people tear into Arreola but the closest he's ever come to 273 is 10 pounds.

    Thoughts?

273... that's well over 20 pounds from his recent match against Towers. :-(

he has a much more massive build than Arreola, who's just a fat, lazy and overweight cruiserweight, at best a 215-220 fighter if he cared to take boxing seriously

Lucas' isn't fat, but he's not lean either

Well, he is getting chummy with his promoter, Ricky Hatton. :conf

Seriously though, he doesn't look too bad even with all that gain.

Arreola is a hot mess and would be at 215.

I don't feel he's fat, but Arreola has shown the ability to maintain a good, even high work rate for a heavyweight.

Browne has never shown above average stamina.

To play devils advocate a little more, Browne seems to be benefited in a few of his biggest fights.

Walker was brought in with a week or less notice and it showed.

Towers was coming off of 17 months of inactivity.

    Maybe I'm being cynical. :verysad

I don't know, Bahoeli is...really not that good. (although he is coming off a domestically significant and confidence-boosting upset KO of previously unbeaten fellow Quebecois prospect Didier Bence)

Browne would need to be in miserable shape to lose.

it's actually quite difficult for someone of Lucas' frame to pace himself and maintain a decent conditioning (in other words, not gassing after throwing 20 punches a round) , Arreola, despite carrying all that fat and blubber, is still smaller framed than Lucas, not to mention an extensive amateur backround, and despite looking like an advertisement for a steak house has decent conditioning

Not being at your absolute best is a lot more dangerous when you have such free range to just go bat **** shape wise like heavyweights do.

A lot of big boxing upsets occur at heavyweight, and they occur because almost everyone up there can punch.

Anyway, I don't hold Bahoeli's loss against Dinu against him. Many consider Dinu something of a lost gem at heavyweight and it's easy to overlook some of his best work because its not found on boxrec.

Yeah, but...he is damn sloppy. He makes Browne himself look the second coming of Clay. He is what people long accused/suspected Browne of being - a hunk of beefcake who can slug you into submission if you let him, but can't handle anyone that can either a) match his size & strength or b) box a lick.

Also, I'm not as high on Dinu as I used to be...and I was probably his biggest cheerleader on here for a time... :klitfanb:

Everyone at heavyweight is a sloppy ****

Straight punches and not falling around like a drunkard are curse words

Arreola is naturally comfortable at his current weight, Mexicans are naturally built that way, they function best that way, anything less than 220 and you are better off at cruiserweight :thumbsup

I stand by Browne being stopped twice in eight total fights in MMA :think

His rise has been mostly due to his vaunted punch, and his downfall will come due to a knockout that will inevitably have every homo on ESB going wild about his awful mandible :tired

    All true enough.

I won't be totally shocked if Bahoeli ham-hocks Browne out cold, tomorrow...but if my cash were being plunked anywhere (it won't, but were it to...) it would be on Browne. Bigger puncher and less spastic...and while yes he was stopped a couple times before jumping sports, he was never stopped by Ray freaking Olubowale en route to needing a combined fourteen rounds (all uphill climbing) to get rid of him.
