"Fighting like that, with the focus I had and the way I felt physically, I'd beat anyone in my weight division, there's nobody who can touch me. "If you watch the fight against Ward, I was a totally different fighter, I had a bad night, but that kind of performance [against Bute] beats Andre Ward. "If I catch anyone on the chin like I caught Bute, it's game over, it's as simple as that. I'd beat anybody, including Andre Ward." Froch was amazing last night & it was one of the best performances I've seen in Britain, but I disagree with the above statement as Bute is not anywhere near as good as Ward.
Froch did amazing last night! Superb and showed 90% of us up. But Ward is wrong for him. No shame in that.
Ward is Froch's nemesis. just as Froch is Bute's nemesis. It is what it is. I think Bute against Ward would be very competitive. Ward wouldn't be able to knock Bute out.
I was at the press conference afterwards and as always Jeff Powell showed how little insight he has into the sport by suggesting Ward could be possible next. Ward is everything wrong for Froch and whilst this was an amazing night, I think he deep down inside know's he's everything thats wrong for him. Froch - Kessler 2 should be up next
:deal I've never seen Froch that hungry or fired up for a fight. Ward is just all wrong for Froch though.
It is what Carl needs to tell himself to keep going. Ward is simply too good technically but yes if he did put hands on his cranium then a similar result could occur. However, I think Carls best fight is the Kessler rematch.
Spot on. The most shocking thing for me last night was that Bute looked so inexperienced and had absolutely no idea what to do when froch put pressure on him. He just sat on the ropes like a novice. Couldn't believe what I was watching.
Froch should target Kessler or Cleverly. He'd beat both IMO and he can have a few earners after before hanging them up.
It would seem to me that Froch thrives off fear. His two best performances have come against guys he knows damn well could hurt him, no coincidence there.
