I think Adamek edged it 116-112 / 115-113 the 119-109 was ridiculous but Adamek was doubling up the jab and was too busy for chambers to take advantage
Adameks adventure to heavy has been a complete disaster. He could have been HOF if he stayed at cruiser. Instead he goes to heavy where he struggles with a shot Grant, and a bum like Mcbride. His best wins at heavy were a close UD over an obese **** who does not train, and a robbery over a guy who should be at CW. :---( Its sad, Adamek tried to chase the $$$ instead of focusing on his legacy. I would have probably done the same tho :yep
Adamek looked bad against one-armed opponent, but I have no problems with the decision. You do not get extra points just for fighting with injury, and making your opponents miss without throwing much back is not winning you rounds. Yes, in theory if neither fighter shows "effective aggressiveness" judges should take defence into account... practice shows they prefer any kind of aggressiveness over it thought. Adamek should take any possible payday (Wlad, Haye, ...) as he is not going anywhere in HW. Before this fight I hoped he has some chances against Povetking, but now I really doubt it. Pity it is probably means the end of boxing at the top for Chambers. Yes, it is sad no one was willing to put enough money to make a rematch with Cunningham, which was FOTY candidate if I remember well. Adamek is probably now as unexciting in HW as he was exciting in lighter divisions (forget Dawson fight), but it is not his fault heavies are ridiculously overpriced.
Adamek looked like complete ****, and got schooled by a 1 armed Chambers Don't listen to those that say it was "close", it was a horrible robbery atsch
had ademek winning easy . And he would still win if chambers had 2 hands as he would open up more therefore get hit more . Alot of times a guy that is injured will play more defense and will actually stay in the fight due to that fact
Both of these fighters really shouldn't be fighting as HW's. The division is so poor right now though it allows men like Adamek and Chambers to remain at HW. I couldn't help watching this snorefest last night and imagining what would happen to these two if they were time machined back to the 70's or late 80's and early 90's. Ouch!
Watched the fight. I don't necessarily wanna declare a winner as I would expect the winner of a 12 rd HW contest to at least mildly hurt his opponent. There would be none of that here. It was one of those who-lost-less bouts and considering Chambers was a one-armed powerless pugilist for almost the entire duration of the fight yet still managed to go 12 rounds w/o having been even close to hurt I'll have to award him the who-lost-less title. That says more about Adamek than Chambers. I don't know if this adds to the legend of "Polish intellect" (or lack thereof) but at what point do you begin to realize that your powerless opponent is only using one arm and turn things into a dog fight? Adamek was bigger than Chambers, with two arms and more power yet he refused to manhandle him. Go figure. So in conclusion I'm not gonna sit up here and claim it was robbery cuz it's not as if Chambers beat the brakes off Adamek. It was more of a televised sparring session. Chambers deserved to win more off of what Adamek didn't do than what Eddie did. So at that point I don't care who's awarded the "victory," if you will, I'm just glad JCC Jr. came to whoop some Irish ass!
