Anyone believe BHOP should be 52-2-1?

    Not true.

They were all close and I can't really dispute any of the decisions, however he is to be considered unlucky, getting the ass end of three split decisions.

Had he won those fights, it would probably make a huge difference to his ATG status. However, it really shouldn't. The fights he lost were all close - even if he didn't get the "w', he still performed well. That's what get's overlooked when you skim resumes.

Apart from the loss in his first fight, his only losses are:

    • a competitive fight with RJJ
    • two disputed decisions against Taylor
    • a disputed decision again Calzaghe

He has never been knocked out, barely been hurt, and never been subjugated in the ring.

    He is, a legend!

I don't think the defeats make much difference to be honest. Anyone who knows anything about boxing knows that the Calzaghe and Taylor fights were close and that he is a master craftsman. The history books will document this.

I thought that the decision in all 3 of those fights was right.

He beat Taylor twice, but lost to Calzaghe. Taylor was HBOs favorite and the boxing establishment hated Hopkins - they made sure he didn't get the nod. Taylor's nickname should be "Gift Decisions," he's gotten so many of 'em.

Nope. Same case in all three fights: Hopkins never did enough to win more rounds.

    Just not how I score.

No one will ever convince me he didnt win the first Taylor fight...But the others I dont have a real problem with..Taylor II I had a disappointing draw and I scored the fight for Joe when they fought.

In my opinion he beat Taylor once and lost to Calzaghe in a close one. Hopkins just runs out of gas too easy now. Prime for prime Hopkins whups both their asses.

i had him beating taylor once, drawing with taylor in the rematch, and losing 8-4 to calzaghe. i've never seen the mercado fight where he was knocked down twice, but didn't most people say he should have won that also?

You could probably take one of the Taylor fights back but thats it,i do think Calzaghe beat him,Jones beat him,and Taylor beat him 1 out of 2
