when money is involved it becomes whatever the fighters want ... as long as the fight goes down ... who's to dispute the process it which it takes?
Promoters and the fighters do indeed want to make as much money as possible on any fight. At this point there is no need to accuse either Mayweather or Cotto of not being able to bring money and fans to the table. Fans want to see this fight when both men are at their prime and not wait until someone figures that so and so finally has enough of a fan base. That is just plain BS. The public on both sides are behind making this fight happen, both Mayweather fans, Cotto fans and just plain boxing fans. It isn't going to get anymore popular and being in the game as long as he has Floyd knows this. So what is the REAL reason for this fight not being signed? THAT is what people are beginning to ask.
Floyd never cracked 400k PPV buys before fighting Oscar, and only sold 9,000 tickets when he fought Carlos Baldomir. Mayweather-De La Hoya and Mayweather-Hatton being such huge events, said more about Oscar and Ricky's drawing power than Floyd's. Cotto can pack put 18,000 and 20,000 in MSG, Mayweather can't even crack 10,000 in his own backyard.
its all about money now for floyd :O hes sold his soul to the devilllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll
The VanAndel Area sold out to capcity (12k) the times that Floyd fought there. (GR, MICH) He did 350k when he fought Gatti and did 400k when he fought Judah. Only reason why the Baldomir fight didn't sell was because of the shady promotion and the fact that people knew he was going to beat Baldomir. There's alot of Puerto Ricans in NY ... of course he's going to be able to sell out MSG. Floyd sold out when he fought Judah ... If FLoyd came to Michigan he would be able to sell out the palace. (25-30k)
