Anyone changed positions on Haye?

Apart from, you know, that big guy he won the belt off. I think he just possibly might've been in the top ten.

 

But it's not like he's fought countless times at heavyweight; I know he's ultimately responsible for his own inactivity, but he's fought a top ten heavy in his three fights since leaving the cruiser division behind. Ruiz was a mandatory so he can't be held accountable for that fight.

Was there a contract signed? No. Just because Vitali announced that it was virtually a done deal doesn't make it so.

 

I dont think you can argue that Haye hasn't done the business since moving up to HW. After some easy tune ups (you have to allow for a few tune ups if ur moving to HW) he has taken a World Championship Belt from a man mountain that many thought would destroy him. Then he fought a rejuvinated fighter in John Ruiz, winning comfortably and putting on a real good show to boot.
For a new HW I think he has done well so far.
All the talk is just that, TALK...its what makes the boxing world go round and its what makes a lot of fights happen.
I still think Haye will fight the Klits eventually - not sure if he will beat them both though

Rejuvinated? Ruiz has just retired, shite fighter who was 38, Haye is all talk.

 

The main thing I'd hold against Haye at this stage is his inactivity.

I'd be pissed off if he fought Harrison next, in fact I'd say anybody other than a Klitschko or Adamek would be a joke.

It all depends on the deal he can wangle out of them, options etc - given that he is tied into something with Sauerland they might negotiate on his behalf.

I'd like Vitali next, he's got the beating of him..... all building toward a Wlad fight early next year.

Hopefully he will fight Adamek if he does not fight a Klit.If he does fight Audley,i would be disappointed because it is a total mismatch as far as true boxing fans are concerned but i could see sky making allot of money with that one.

Haye is a top class fighter and since moving up to heavyweight in his four fights he has a better resume than any fo the so called prospects that have been campaigining there for years. As far as I'm concerned he promised the Kilts, went on about the Klits, told us all how he was so very different and just willing to fight anyone - so far he's simply failed to deliver.

Valuev and Ruiz (an aged shopworn Ruiz) should be viewed how they were pre Haye, widley seen as jokes, in what was seen as a joke division, holding ABC belts to ransom and not by this ever increasing status they seem to be getting post being beaten by Haye.

Like it or not, Haye is currenly nothing but a paper champion.

Herbie Hide did more at HW and also got in there with Bowe and Vitali - credit to the man, he did more than just talk.

The way i see it is.... he talked about the Klits and cleaning up. When the Klit fight didnt come off he went right well lets clean up which he would have had to do sooer or later. So he beat Valuev then beat Ruiz into retirement though he was begging for it no other heavy prospect or otherwise has been able to do it. Now he is looking at the Klits. IF he had fought Wlad and Vitali and won he still probably would have had to deal with Valuev/Ruiz all he has done is do it the other way rounf after Klit negotiations have fallen through

 

Boxing is a business. If Haye had been offered reasonable terms by either Kilt I have no doubts the fight would be on.

 

1) He pulled out of the fight with Wlad because Setanta went bust, which meant Haye would have been fighting for nothing, no fighter would ever fight for free no matter what they say.

2) He didn't really pull out of a Vitali fight did he? They were in talks yes, but no contract was ever signed and then he gets a better offer for a much easier fight with Valuev plus the chance to increase his bargaining chips for the future. An absolute no brainer really.
