Anyone depressed after last nights fights?

You're giving into the way things are in a crooked, **** you in the ass without even giving you a reach around sport. The way it works isn't the way it has to work and it certainly isn't for the benefit of the sport. It's validating ducking.

In 25 years people are going to talk about Rigo in hushed tones like Tefilio Stevenson, someone we never got to see go pro period. His whole story is going to be untold, and he's just going to fade into history when in reality we could potentially have a fighter with a top 50 or higher ATG resume.

And my problem isn't just Rigo, it's predictable outcomes, robberies, every other Mexican ever losing numerous times throughout their face because of their awful facial features. A guy that's great for the sport like Vargas being turned into a movie monster every time he fights.

Several fights being cancelled in just the past few weeks, mostly weak matchmaking, dog **** decisions on every PBC card. It's a lot of things.

 

Lol, because his titles, win over P4P star Donaire, and prestige couldn't of made for any of big money unification matches with any number of fighters. You act as if promoters are barely scraping by financially. They're making money hand over fist and plenty of fighters are vastly overpaid. There's no reason to not cut Rigo a fraction of whats being made.

Simple fact is, he is a legitimately avoided fighter.

Just a small grievance among a lot of them lately, anyway.

 

Are you implying Rigo can't attract flies to ****? There are plenty less marketable fighters out there, his ability creates a consistent interest in him it's the first place.

His issue is that he's very high risk. Somehow that means he hasn't earned what he deserved even through he's been globe trotting for years, kicking ass and taking names even though he's one of the smallest guys you'll ever at the weight.

 

Why was this thread steered away from what I was attempting to share? I shared other viewpoints once they were later brought up, yes.

My points were that I would like more dynamic match-making (Cue a UFC mention if you'd like, I'm sick of them being used as an example in every case, regardless of it being the truth) and on the other side, that it sometimes depressing watching your favorite Mexican fighters whom you get connected to always looking like ****in' Shrek after 4 rounds. Anyone remember Brian Viloria Segura a few years ago? There's a perfect example of what I was saying.

It's depressing and it's at times hard to watch. Don't even remotely get me wrong, that I still don't love boxing. But Tom Brady doesn't look like a deformed beaten alien if he loses a football game. I was just sharing, among other things, my occasional frustration with different facets of boxing.

 

My thoughts and therefore grammar are always so garbled up the first time I write something, even after proof reading diligently.

I know exactly what you're saying, and it's part of the frustration that I was trying (poorly) to explain.

You know guys go in their with abandon and aggressiveness as a large perk to their marketability. Optimally, their promoters want all of their fights to be as fan friendly as possible. And what do fans want...? Blood and guts and not much else.
