I enjoyed it, but as always the hope is for a classic, and it was far from that, still a watchable fight tho
It was crap and never really ended up getting going. I get more unsure of Smith by the fight, he should be winning fights like this comfortably. Or at least I thought he should, maybe ive overrated him.
The fight was very entertaining, I thought. Yes, it got a bit scrappy at the end, but I thought that was down to tiredness. I thought Quigley was the clear winner.
I thought Quigley shoulda got the nod but i watched it on tv and my mates were there and said Smigga won it. I disagree **** fight after all the hype
I'm in the same boat, at one point I thought he might be able to go on and make it to world class but I just don't think he's anywhere that good TBH.
Boring Ugly Fight. what makes it worse is BBC's headline This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected .
Paul Smith was to concerned with out boxing Tony Quigley..... But Tony Quigley is a very awkard fighter, very deceptive. Smith needed to just mix it up inside more, insted of trying to beat Quigley with long range shots...... Quigley From long range is quite awkard to hit...and tp have a sustained attack on........... When you close down the distance and have the strength to grapple with him.......body punches and short hooks............will beat him. "Look at the last 2 rounds of the fight, Smith was doing what he should of done from the start" Paul Smith is not Roy Jones Junior, he has not got the laser like speed to out box and land long range bombs....... Paul Smith adapted but left it very late..... I think Tony Quigley was winning the fight, up until the last 2 rounds....... When Paul Smith won rounds, it stood out more..! But over the duration of the fight, Toney Quigley was the stronger man.....!
apart from a bit of scrapping in last 2/3 rounds...it was an awful, awful display for a British title fight...like a poor unlicesened boxing match...very little skill on display
