pauls whole tactics was to wait until quigley makes his move and counter him but he just ended up waiting too long.

paul is the kind of fighter who should NOT fight on the back foot unless hes winning, he needs to set up his shots more.

id like to see him throw 3 jabs then right-to-head and then left-to-body. he really needs to work on setting up his shots and working himself in first!!!

Very scrappy affair. Some very good fighters have held this title before but I don't think either of these 2 fall into this category.

I think Paul Smiths needs to go down to 160, and so does Tony Quigley...."IF HE CAN"..?

Looking at Quigley's body and maybe his genetics, he looks like a naturally big lad....

Paul Smith i think should be fighting at 160...! from a phsyically point of view....

There's bad people in the supermiddle weight division, and i just don't think Paul Smith can survive for long there.......

quigley is a natural grappler and hes great at it so u have to stick your jab in his face and give him somethin to think about other than wheres the next big shot comin from. as soon as smith misses, he falls in so he needs to work his jab more than anything! if smigga worked everythin off his jab tonight, he would have landed twice as many shots as he did!!!

id like to see him throw 3 jabs then right-to-head and then left-to-body. he really needs to work on setting up his shots and working himself in first!!!

Dare I say that both seem to have found their level.

I thought Quigley won, but both look like they are staying right were they are; domestic level.

World class is well beyond them, even European possibly.

I wonder if Toney Dodson will get a crack at Paul Smith...

He was beating Quigley more impressively..

    Up until the last round...

yeah your right. paul just waited too much!

there is gonna be a rematch of TQ v PS so it depends on that fight.

if smigga can box a bit better in the rematch and stops quigley, i think dodson will be outa the picture. but if it goes the distance again, maybe TD will get a shot again!!!

frank decided on a rematch as soon as the final bell rung.

pauls not going anywhere until he improves on tonight mate!!! frank knows, judging on tonights performance, that smigga will be outboxed at world level so the rematch is VERY important for Paul!!!

All good points but maybe he's not strong enough to do that at 168? He wasn't fighting on the back foot tonight, he was just getting steadily forced back.

he did fight on the backfoot mate. he was allowing TQ to come forward so he could counter him coming in, but TQ's jab was good.

Seemed like that. Quigley just grabbed centre ring whenever he felt like it, up until the 11th and 12th. Smith fought back well in the last two though.

It looked to me like he was getting pushed back more that he was deciding to fight that way. If you know what I mean?
