Anyone disappointed with the Smith Quigley fight?

I have got to say tony i would love you and paul to get it on. It sounds like paul will have to defend against quigley again if you believe frank warren, but i think you should get a shot against the winner of that fight.
I don't however see how tony scrapped it.
If getting hit and holding, and pushing your man into the ropes wins you a fight, then quigley won, but the more cultured boxing, and telling shots won the fight for paul.
I even have some quigley fans who i sqw at the fight agreeing with me.
And also my mate who came up from brum to see the fight with me last night put a large wager on quigley to win, but conceded that Smith clearly got the better in the end, although it would be fair to say that some of the rounds were very close.
By the way, just to add, i thought your fight and quigley was ace, and you were v unlucky, would have like to have seen you win

Smith would use the "can't get motivated" excuse not to fight you.

He's just very limited and can't box. He's a slick-ish brawler who can put punches together pretty well.

Well no, I actually don't kinda negate it.

People think he's a good boxer because he can put punches together very well but they fail to realise he can only do it when the other guy is up against the ropes or gassed. He's a clean brawler, hence the slick-ish comment.

As soon as someone gives him angles or frustrates him, he just clams up and doesn't throw anything.

 

TBH i think is pretty much a load of bollocks. plenty of times in the centre of the ring smith counter punched, and combos together.
But it's just an opinion

Tony me and Saturday kid were talking about you in another thread. What's next for you mate? You and Magee for me are the top dogs in this Division and i see some classic duels between you Quigley and Magee...seems maybe as you say Smith won't be in entered into that realm which would be crying shame as he be holding the belt hostage.

It would actually be great if the uk could have our own version of the super six, yourself, smith, quigley, magee, david, and maybe anderson.
i think that would rock many peoples world, and we could say for sure who the best is!

 

116 - 115 on my card in favour of Smith. Quigley probably is alot more awkard then most of us think and the fight was a bit of stinker in parts. Fair play to the pair of them though and could have gone either way. Don't think I will be salivating at the prospect of a rematch though....

no offwncw Tony but that fight was a nightmare to me, it was sloppy as hell i was having fits of anger of the sloppiness.

i think it was more out of bad blood.

i had it level.

 

i got to be honest, i have got a lot of love for most of the boxers out of liverpool. I have followed smiggas career, and would class myself as a big fan. I am sure he would not dispute that you derserve another shot, but it all depends on what frank decides at the end of the day.
I don't think he would didge you though, the same as i am sure you would not dodge him.
All in all, this is again all good for the liverpool boxing scene again, and long may it continue!

 

ONLY IF THAT WAS TRUE ........ive had a txt off him already telling me to get in line and work my way to mand position because he knows i will beat him END OF STORY.

 

Warren's face said it all during the fight he knew Smith was beaten. But I suppose Smith just had a bad night (AGAIN) last night, and we will see what he can really do NEXT time!.
