Gamboa is good he is one of my Favorite fighters in the lower divisions, but it is my opinion that Mikey Garcia's style will negate all that speed, as timing and countering will always negate the speed and wild factor... ask JMM and Pacquiao. Can't wait to see it, and maybe I am proven wrong but I hold Mikey very high on my list of potential A fighters... Gamboa is special, but Garcia is a special talent as well, just hasn't had the bigger fights like Gamboa.

It would be a great fight, garcia is only 23 a young guy with skills that seem much more veteran... his patience and countering ability will play a huge part in the Gamboa fight. With his age I don't see this fight happening until next year with one or 2 more fights...

Still can't wait for PDL as I think that is a very good fight & arum being smart and giving him pure Mexicans to up his Popularity as Cuban boxing fans talk a lot **** online but they don't back up their people with $$$. So they gotta rely on the Mexican fan base... All is good, cause I am pay for HBO subscription and will be watching that great fight with Mexi friends in HD who also love themselves some Gamboa as he has a very crowd pleasing style!!

And De Jesus, and Jimenez. The Ramirez KD was via elbow though that wasn't called.

He's prone to being countered, and his footwork still isn't great, but he's corrected a lot of the problems that led to his early career knockdowns.

his biggest problem is that he keeps his hands low when he exchanges fast combos. could be another roy if he doesnt correct this problem. But, his defense has improved a bit since being KD early in his career

Even though you have some good points about Gamboa, I still see Mickey way below him. Yes he may have very good timing and the patience but Gamboa doesn't just stand in there to get hit. I have noticed that Gamboa mostly fights on the outside, ( something rare for a short boxer ) and only gets in to attack and out again. This is a very difficult style to deal with cause it's very unpredictable. Roy Jones said that Gamboa fights extremely well on the outside despite him being a short guy and this is because of his Cuban amateur background.

Garcia's tools are not enough to defeat Gamboa, he may very well give him some trouble but will fall short and mainly because of Gamboa's insane speed and power. But this fight will not likely happen as Arum will not risk Garcia against El Ciclón as you are right, the Mexicans really support their fighters and that's where Arum wants to be. The Cuban fans will not deliver Arum a lot of dough and Garcia's fans will. ;)

the only man in his weight range that could come up and do it right now is Donaire but that's a 50/50 fight IMO and Gamboa has a great chance being used to the higher weight.

    Gamboa destroys Garcia

If any one at 126 has a chance of giving Gamboa his first defeat, it is Garcia, just not right now. Give him some more time and fights. You are very right in saying that "...timing and countering will always negate the speed and wild factor". But Mikey still needs to put some more work into his Timing and Countering he's not there at that top level just yet.

Arum is no fool, he knows how to market his fighters, Mexicans really appreciate action fights and Gamboa brings plenty of action. :bbb Lets see if PDL can use his long arms, hard punches, and akward southpaw style to test Gamboa's body. PDL attacks the body well, and I've never seen anyone land a well placed body shot on Gamboa. But PDL is not a great couterpuncher and lacks plenty of speed, his best bet is to lure Gamboa into a brawl.

Gamboa is no joke and if keeps himself focused in the sport he will tough, very tough to defeat.

I can't even bring Donaire into the picture being that he hasn't even tested the waters at 122. No disrespect Royal but how can you say if anyone has a chance its Donaire? I mean, I like Donaire and I admire his athletic ability, but he's a 118 lbs. fighter. Let him take on Guillermo Rigondeaux, Arce, or Rico Ramos first and see how he does there.

However I do agree that Garcia is just not ready for Gamboa.

Not such a bold statement honestly. Gamboa is obviously a chinny bloke, neglects his defense and is all offense (at which he's very good at).
