The first I saw him fight was with Breidis Prescott and I immediately admired him after that stunning comeback. His next fight with Herrera only made me like him more but after seeing that incredible war with Rios it made me a huge fan. I love Rios as well but I can't help but admire Alvarado more. Really looking forward to seeing his next fight. Hopefully he gets a few tune up fights before getting into another war. I feel that he's proven that he's a tough fight for any 140 lber to deal with and would give guys like Khan, Garcia, Matthysse, Maidana, etc. a run for their money, with the exception of JMM. I also think Alvarado wins the rematch with Rios, he'll come back stronger and and not make the same mistakes again.
He should try to land a title fight. He is already 32 and the way he fights, i dont think that he has too many fights left in him.
I really felt if he got separation he could have won, when he didnt fight in the trenches where Rios wanted him he would land bomb right hands on him that definitely hurt Rios if they were too rematch he would be better suited not to stand toe to toe next time but get at least to mid range though alvarado could not avoid the left hook
I did, I was ringside covering the Rios vs Alvarado fight and in weeks leading up to the fight I did my research and watched most of his recent fights. He is a very good fighter, and I picked him to beat Rios.
i hope he wins a title by next year. i just found out on hbo's tale of the tape that he's 32. i thought he was about 25-27
