  1. It's a mismatch?

    How so?

I was coming home on the train afew months back, when this fight was announced. I had been out for a pint in liverpool city centre, and i was on the last train home.

The train was full of people who where abit drunk, who had obviously been out for a pint aswell.

And afew people infront of me, where talking about the fight. They where middle age people, and one old fella, and some woman who must of been in her 30's.

Most of this group of people could not visually see me, because i was sitting in the corner of the train and the chairs our massive! Well they are on Merseyside Travel Trains.

These guys where not from Liverpool, they sounded quite posh.

The woman who was sitting with them, noticed me sitting in the corner and was smiling at me.

But before that, because i was abit drunk.

I heard these guys slating the match up between David Haye & Derek Chisora.

I said in a raised voice...

"What is you're problem....? these guys are both professional boxers, they are both ranked fighters, and they want to fight! Controvsry and boxing has always been closely link"

    One of the fella's replied...

"Well David Haye is a ****ing Koon, and that Derek Chisora is a spade"

Note: Remember these guys cannot see me, where just shouting over chairs...

The woman, who was the only person who could see me! Her face had gone red, and she apologetically mouthed....."SORRY".

And she had her hand on the seat next to her, and was patting it!

"Gesturing for me to come over to them and sit next to her"

    I stood up...

Round about 190 pounds of me.

And all of the group of fella's could see that i was a black man.

I kind of sadistically laughed, and sat by this women. She was quite fit aswell, and she told me that...

It was her birthday, and these where all her family members, cousins, and the old fella.....

"Who was the guy who called David Haye a Koon, and Derek Chisora a spade".......that was her uncle.

Its at moments like these, well i feel i need to carry contact cards around. You see because she balantly wanted me to ****ing ruin her. But you could see that she did'nt want to ask for my number infront of all of her cousins, and uncle.

And with contact cards, you can just slip it to them on the sly! and give them a little rub after you have slipped it in their pocket.

    Well anyway....

Me and mainly this old fella, just talked about boxing. He apologised for his language, and shook my hand.

The woman said that i reminded her of David Haye...

She only wanted attention because i was paying this old fella most of my attention.

I am getting more and more excited as the days pass. A day of drinking with friends then watching two athletes punch each other in the face is perfect entertainment.

    Better than the other alternative......

  12. Who gives a **** who's in the crowd and which venue it's at?

There's a boxing ring in the middle. That's all that matters.

No as a huge boxing fan I love all this. The media coverage, interviews, discussion on forums, documentaries, press conferences, fight night, the aftermath etc. They all contribute to make a boxing fight an EVENT.

Saturday is the climax of a two month EVENT. Every boxing fan should have enjoyed it.

The same applies to other big fights.

Atleast Haye will potshot his way to Victory. Kinda feel sorry for Derek. He doesn't deserve the hate he gets.
