anyone else close to being done with boxing?

Is it bad that I actually want Bob Arum to die? Ive never hated someone so much.

 

I know what your saying mate. I have followed boxing for over 30 years and certainly when it was my fighter, or I'd paid to see the fight I was gutted. I don't follow it quite as closely now.

I mean this is sport and I appreciate sometimes if it is tight and my guy losses I can take that on the chin, but boy I have watched some **** over the years were it was not even close which to me is just taking the **** and nothing ever happens to these judges or Refs.

I could see Arum departing sooner rather than later as he is an old man, my fear is that another Arum/King fills the vacuum left.

I just don't see things changing without some outside force changing the state of play.

The system itself is corrupt with judges and Refs taking the ****, the whole pro sport needs a serious overhaul.

The thing is when I was younger all the fights were on normal tv so I accepted the fact that sometimes dodgy **** happened, now nearly all decent cards are on pay per view, this takes the **** further because you paid decent money and invite your mates round and they look at you as if your a wrestling fan because instead of seeing some sweet boxing and it being a proper competitive sport it is turned into "Staged" BS.

 

This right here! He were all just waiting for the robbery and it happened. :-(

 

The thing is our opinion on who really won doesn't count because the fact remains that Rios will move on to better things (Pac or Marquez) while Abril will just continue to be a stepping stone (or considered a "dangerous" opponent and fade into obscurity)

Boxing is not a sport really.
Which sport can you think of where the best don't face each other?
The reason Rios got the nod last night was purely a business decision.

I find myself caring less and less about boxing with each passing robbery.
It's rampant in the sport and not just Top Rank.
When a sport becomes so full of corruption it's not worth doing or watching.

Boxing is dying a slow painful death because of **** like this.

It's a disgrace really.
Boxing is in need of serious reform for the future of the sport.

 

This is what pisses me off most.
All is forgotten in less than a week by most people and it's back to the same old regurgitated **** (mayweather, Pacquiao, Ped's etc)
Boxing fans should strive for better.
People should be up in arms about the way the sport is headed.

 

I understand how you feel and I get heated when I see a robbery like that. Like, irrationally angry. I couldn't give less of a **** about Richard Abril and yet that decision had my blood boiling to the point I could barely sleep last night. I can't be done with the sport though, I love it too much. I've been done with judges for a while now. I understand different people think differently, everybody is entitled to their own opinion and whatnot, but some opinions (e.g. "Sarah Jessica Parker is hotter than Jessica Alba!") are just flat out ****ing wrong. The fact that nothing is done about it most of the time is even worse.

We need a revolution.

 

I lost much interest in Boxing when they changed the rules and took the championship rounds out of boxing..13. 14 and 15th rounds. My interest today is purely residual from the past.

 

If yall hate boxing so much stop watching. Lol

How is boxing "dying"? If anything it's growing, moving to NBC...the new Lampley show on HBO...24/7, multiple PPV stars...no sign of death anytime soon.

 

It's the fact that we all know NOTHING is going to be done about it. That is what's hard to accept for me. The pieces of **** responsible are NEVER held to account

Robberies
There endemic in boxing and nothing is ever done about them.
Boxing is clearly full of corruption so obviously it's not healthy.
There are robberies every other week.
It's bull**** and hardcore fans are losing interest in the sport e.g. this thread.

There is a lot of things ****ed up about boxing.
The robberies are just one part of that and no amount of 24/7's or tv show's will change that.
People need to start calling this **** out.

 

The worst is the obvious corruption ! The sport needs an intervention !
