Anyone else disappointed with the matchmaking on HBO's triple-header this weekend?

Daniel Jacobs vs. Ishe Smith is another good test for the future champ :)

Completely agree. This is a weak card. Neither Shobox or HBO should put somethign like that out there.

    I gotta disagree bro.

Diaz - Paulie is gonna be a fun fight to watch. And Jacobs and Guerrero are arguably going against the best fighters they have faced, so we get to see what they are made of.

Im kinda looking forward to it.

Malignaggi is not headline material even if it's only on BAD. I'm always excited to watch The Baby Bull however so I'll definitely be tuning in.

I have a feeling that Diaz/Malignaggi might end up being a little more competitive than what a lot of people are expecting and I'm saying this even with the knowledge that Paulie has nothing to make Diaz respect him. Logic would suggest that the Baby Bull walk right through Paulie but logic and boxing don't always go together.

What can ya do about it really. I mean originally it was going to be a good card but Katsidis originally balked at Escobedo and with a big PPV so close, GBP isn't going to risk a big(ger) fight.

Ishe Smith vs Danny Jacobs is poor match making and if Jacobs loses, GBP has only themselves to blame.

Though im not EXCITED about the fight, i am indeed looking forward to Diaz-Malignaggi, the only downside to that fight is that one of them has to lose in a fight both NEED to win.... the other fights dont interest me at all.

I am not interested in any of those fights. Nothing meaningful on HBO for a month.

Diaz vs Malignaggi should be interesting.

Definitely a lackluster card, but with the lack of fights on HBO recently, it's still worth the watch. ESPN has this card beat though next week. They have two title bouts, Bailey vs Urango and Cloud vs Woods. That card beats this one easily.

HBO hasn't done much in monts and this is what they give us :scaredas:!!

Its great to have boxing back on after a slooooowwwww summer.

But Ishe Smith and Mallinaggi aren't exactly the most fun fighter to watch and I've never been a fan of Guerrero.

Sure, Jacobs is taking a step up and from that standpoint it has some interest.

But couldn't a more fan friendly fighter on the same level as Smith have been found?

This is a very lackluster card.

People are going to be surprised by Klassen. He's like a mini-Timothy Bradley.

When was I ever wrong?

Very solid card by Golden Boy last night, so kudos to them. Every fight was entertaining, and none of them really played out like I expected.

I said to a poster on page one if I was wrong about the way these fights played out (particularly the main event), then I'd gladly eat crow. Well, I'm eating it now, though it's a bit hard to digest after the scoring of the main event.
