How about Buncey and Andy Kerr do the chu-chu with half a dozen strippers, just go around in circles - a novel way to prove that there is no one behind those background screens [again].:good

As far as a business strategy, no – they were the architects of their own demise. They bet heavily on football to drive their business and picked an audience that are so completely transient that, the instant they lost the service, they lost everything.

Ignoring boxing, if Setanta had looked to offer a serious alternative to Sky they would have done better. Show more tennis – a HUGE sport that gets poor coverage in the UK. The deal with Top Rank is the model they should have followed. Work in partnership with key bodies who are keen to expand using your network.

Football can go anywhere and usually get the money they want. Why pick them when they’ll jump ship at the first whiff of additional finance?

If someone buys them up, I hope they refocus to a core of second string sports that are unlikely to attract other broadcasters but generate a constant revenue stream in line with your expenditure.

Football is poison in the marketplace.

i feel sorry for the people working there and us boxing fans, however they brought it on themselfs they tried to run before they could walk and even sky didn't try and grow that quickly overpaying ridiculous prices for the EPL spending money they didn't have

Deloitte have been appointed as administrators and the Irish broadcaster will soon cease to broadcast to the UK.

Deloitte says Setanta's international and Ireland businesses will continue to trade on air during rescue talks.

I am really upset to be honest. Its a sad day for boxing.

The Boxing hour will deffinatley live on I jsut know it. Even if it become a podcast which we pay a subscription for, or they sell advertising space. That would certainly be a great short term measure.

Good luck to Andy Kerr and anyone who worked on the show. Buncey, good luck to him but I bet he new deep down it wouldn't last he is clearly a smart guy.

We all have to come together and let ESPN know there are boxing out there that want to see fights. As individuals we can do nothing, together we can something.

Really sad news....its been great while it lasted.

Have no hope for ESPN and boxing, might get FNF but thats it. Can't see them buying fights from HBO and Showtime to show over here.

Our only hope is Sky, and thats a worrying thought.

How about about sending e-mails to Sky for an increase in boxing as well. Needs to be co-ordinated across all forums though.

I agree, but it is up to the different boxing websites to organise this.
