No, he fights for a living, in a sport that the occasional draw aside has a winner and a loser every time. Not even taking into consideration the money he's earned doing it.
In an absolute sense, no. In a "relative to other millionaire athletes," he is one of those personalities that attracts criticism and every bit of mud seems to stick. But in the broad outlines of his career, he's done a lot of what we would want. He could have canceled the card in New York when Miller tested positive instead of fighting Ruiz on late notice. He could have frozen out Usyk, dropped the WBO belt, and either let Fury try to win it or pick it back up when Usyk retired in frustration. He could have done a lot of things to make life easier on himself, but instead he actually took fights and that's how he ended with some losses.
Has someone posted - he has 9 figures in the bank. You have to be crazy to feel sorry for him. I am not one of those people who is invested in celebrities or give a **** about them. I watch boxing for the fun but dont care about boxers. Why bother over someone who does not even know you exist? No I will never feel anything for rich and famous people. Not now not ever.
I might have felt a tiny bit sorry for him, but after his ridiculous outburst post-fight, and the fact that Feldman and Co. tried to rig the decision for him, NOPE Not one little bit. You get what you deserve.
I might later on but right now I'm still shocked and slightly confused but what he did. Joshua, Briner, Wilder, Garcia, Teofimo, and a few others just show how fragile the psyche of a boxer can be. He needs to step away from boxing for a bit and get himself together.
No. It's the second time he's stolen a rival's thoroughly earned moment from him, and he couldn't possibly have done a more egregiously total job of it tonight. That exhibition was so grotesque as to make the bile rise. He deserves 0 sympathy.
Hard to feel sorry for an elite sportsman with millions in the bank. Choices & consequences, and every life path has it's trade offs. It might be a hard pill to swallow for the top tier that fall short against their nemesis Usyk types, but he's well compensated for it.
Honestly I think he probably loses that fight if Wilder isn't too badly beaten from the Fury fights. And if this is how he reacted to this loss, then I think a loss to Wilder would make him full on Hulk out
For me it's less about him losing the fight, but more so about how he seems to be completely losing his mind. Not a pretty sight.
