Anyone else find it crazy that Mayweather fought Maidana 2 times?

you cannot appease everyone but it showed the confidence of floyd not believing he beat him. he should have fought khan who beat maidana? as the p4p nr 1, he is his own boss, for money, etc reasons he can make the khan fight.

It was a bit of a joke tbh. I refused to watch the second fight. Maidana was a horrible choice of opponent anyway

    Not really

Chino was robbed in the first fight and chino was nice enough to give floyd a rematch

Isn't he flush now, though? Surely he can afford to hire a dietician and personal chef, like other world class boxers. (Klitshcko, Mayweather himself)

I mean, I subsisted on noodles in my late teens as surely many of us did, but...

    Mayweather stops Khan.
If Diaz had him on spaghetti legs then floyd has the power to put him away,he'd time him coming in

I agree the rematch was pointless because I knew PBF would beat him easier than the first fight and I said this when it was announced.

Maidana actually was more effective in the 2nd fight if you look at punches actually landed and Floyd feeling the effectiveness

This is the insanity that infects boxing....NOBODY wanted the maidana fight but floyd? Dude, fans, the media, this entire forum was CLAMORING for a fmj-maidana rematch! From the moment the first fight ended, the network, the promoter, etc was on there talking about maidana deserved a rematch, supposedly because he did so good in the first fight. I didn't see the first fight as close at all...maidana basically hit air all night and floyd popped him at will with combos...but the latino fans were excited as schit because maidana was swinging away non-stop and fooled themeselves into believing it was a competitive fight.

the reason maidana got the fight in the first place was because floyd asked fans to choose whether he should fight maidana or khan next...a day before the deadline, maidana was way ahead in the voting....then khan tweeted to his followers to swamp the ballots and pulled ahead at the last minute. it was clear that without khan's intervention the people's choice was maidana and that's why floyd fought him to begin with.
