God knows why Ward just won't wait to see what happens with Bute and Froch, so he is looking to fight Chad Dawson in the mean time.

The only reason I see Ward wanting to fight a big name like Dawson is so that if he wins, he'll be able to feel that he has all the leverage power during negotiations with Bute.

IMO That will ultimately kill the fight. (wanting the bigger share of money, having the fight in Oakland, etc)

Bute does big numbers in Canada
Ward prefers to fight in Oakland

Ward has already played the "Superior opposition card" when saying Bute doesn't even deserve a shot yet. Will he do the same if he beats Dawson and tries to bully Bute at the negotiating table? God I hope not.

To early to specualte in a Manny - Floyd situation. They are probably the only ones that have problems negotiating with that kind of money involved.

Don't think it will be a problem with bute / ward. But time will tell.

Bumping your own thread in hopes of snagging some Ward haters?

    Pathetic.

I like Ward :huh And I think he is the best SMW but if the fight falls out, I'll lose all faith in boxing.

Froch ko in brutal war round 11, after being knocked down early by a left uppercut by Bute. You heard it here first!

You know, there is a poster calling anything that can happen in a fight. Of course, one will be right. If one ****** chooses Bute to win, one chooses Froch and the other picks a draw, would I be impressed by the ****** picking the right ending?

Maybe if your analysis was more complete, we could see if your call is based on solid points.

Im not sure if Bute/Ward will ever happen. Ward hasnt seemed very eager to make the fight and I think it will be a talked about thing that just doesnt happen. I think Ward will be matched carefully and looked after and keep a good winning record and that Bute will get older and lose and then the fight loses its appeal.
If Bute beats Froch, then there should be no reason for the fight not happen, but I dont think it will and I dont think that will be because of Bute

Its fairly reasonable assuming Ward would shut Bute down completely technically and make it a boring fight.

Chad Dawson is a proven top tier technician, that fight between Ward-Dawson is much more of a toss up from the looks of things, than Ward-Bute.

Thats not to **** on Butes ability, but he's just not shown himself on the grand stage yet, Ward has.

Well, it took Chad two tries to convincingly beat Johnson. We saw when happened when Johnson fought Bute.

I dont really know why Dawson gets raved about so much. If you look at Dawsons big LHW fights, Adamek was a weight weakend not very good LHW, just look at how he was pushed to the limit by Briggs who was KOd by a jab by Green in the first round. Then look at Dawsons other big LHW wins, they were against fighters 14/15 years older in Johnson and Tarver and some felt Johnson won their first fight and then theres the Hopkins win where Hopkins was about 18 years older.
I think Dawson is an easy win for Ward

I got a feeling we're gonna be waiting far too long for this fight and it's gonna happen at 175

He beat Johnson at Johnsons own game then beat him with a solid gameplan that was a near shutout.

The fact is, Dawson schooled both Adamek and Hopkins, whatever did Bute do to prove his technical prowess?
