    Atlas is an immature, insecure person. If you notice he puts down anyone he comes into contact with. All of his colleagues just put up with him but you can tell none of them truly respect him. He is not very bright so it makes him feel important if he puts others down. Tough to listen to.

    In 2006, Teddy Atlas published his autobiography, Atlas: From the Streets to the Ring: A Son's Struggle to Become a Man. In the book, he revealed that he came close to murdering Donny Lalonde. "When he made six million for Leonard, it tore me up," Atlas wrote. "It made me murderous." If Atlas had not been fired by Lalonde and he had trained him for the Leonard fight, he would've gotten 10% of his purse, $600,000.

    Atlas described getting a gun and going to Lalonde's apartment building in New York. After getting buzzed into the building by another tenant, Atlas went to Lalonde's apartment and knocked on the door. "If he had opened the door, he was dead," Atlas wrote. "I would have pulled the trigger, turned around, and walked away." However, there was no answer.

    Atlas waited through the night for Lalonde to return, periodically phoning the apartment. When he finally got through, Lalonde's girlfriend answered. When asked if Lalonde was home, she said yes. Atlas hung up and started making his way over to the apartment. Somewhere along the way, for whatever reason, Atlas changed his mind.

    Lalonde knew nothing about it until the book came out and a friend told him about it. "It actually didn't surprise me when I heard it," he said. "Teddy got into fights with trainers and fighters quite a bit when I was with him. He may not be the most stable person walking around."

    I know you're not serious. Mike only did that because Iron Mike Promotions was on ESPN and he knew they were going to have to work together.

    Mike said after that meeting, Teddy invited Mike to appear at one of his charity events, and Mike said he was annoyed Teddy was trying to make money off him and said no. They're not speaking any more.

    According to Mike, he was 14 and touched a 12 year old girl on the butt. Not Teddy's niece, it was his fiance's sister. Do you even know the story? Why all the exaggeration?

    That's not the story I heard. And this comes from a very reputable source. It's true that Teddy did invite Mike to make an appearance at one of his charity events - the Dr. Theodore A. Atlas Foundation - but Mike wanted 50% of the money raised for himself (most likely so he could go blow it all on hookers and coke). Naturally, being the philanthropist he is, Teddy took exception to this and told him in no uncertain terms that he would feel the full wrath of Staten Island street justice Teddy Atlas style if he put his filthy little ****** digits anywhere near the money box.

    :lol: Sometimes he says something fruitful if he tried to be objective instead of riding certain fighters he would do a much better job.

    I can't stand him. He spends too much time blabbing about boxing 101 basics and fails to call the fight going on right in front of him.

    He misses more action than any ringside announcer in the sport. I remember a fight where he was gushing over some fighter's footwork and then while he completely ignores the actual fight - wham! the guy gets starched and is laying on the canvas face down. That's a typical Atlas call.

    I don't HATE him, but I don't really care for him.

    Always yapping about how boxing needs to be cleaned up and how mismatches are bad, but had no problems putting his own fighters in there with mismatched opponents.

    As a trainer, he got way too much credit for allegedly "inspiring" or "willing" Moorer to the HW title, when in actuality if you watch the first Holyfield fight, you'll see Moorer sleep-walk in the rounds that directly followed Atlas's dramatics. I also thought it was kind of embarrassing when he gave this speech to Michael Grant inside the ring about not being paralyzed by fear and insecurity or something like that. Like he couldn't say that in private, he had to do it when the cameras were on.

    He can be pretty amusing as a commentator with his ****ogies. I enjoy some of his technical breakdowns before fights.
