The problem Helenius has is that people are clamouring for him vs Klits right now, when realistically he needs several more learning fights to prepare himself for the ultimate test.

Which leads to another problem.... the learning fights aren't really there.

Because the Klitschko's remain relatively active they soon run out of challengers - the only one who hasn't copped a beating is Povetkin, because he's been so obviously steered in another direction.

What the division needs is some strong competition at domestic level in America, Britain and Germany, and for some of the better fighters amongst them to face each other to determine the best challenger.

I guess they are just that good, taking into consideration their best realistic challengers. Haye talked a good game and was ****, Adamek's handlers put him on a milk run before the big fight last night.

I'm interested to see where he goes from here, there's not much out there for him.

Either would be fine, he needs a couple of these intermediate kind of fights.

He'd get massacred if he went straight in.

The dilemma is that he might lose in the meantime and lose his shot, perhaps forever. The money he'd get from the fight would be too good to turn down.

Vitali could have knocked Adamek out at anytime IMO. Adamek felt the power from every solid shot Vitali landed.

 

I agree he'll get hammered right now and I wouldn't mind him going after Povetkin first.

STFU noob. I said before the Haye-Wlad fight that Haye had no chance. I have also not said Adamek is a 'bum', I'm a big fan of Adamek. But watching his previous HW outings, it's clear to even ******s like yourself that he's not a viable challenger for either Klitschko.

Vitali has hit Peter, Arreola, Briggs and Adamek numerous times and not sparked any of them. And none of them are 'great' HWs, and certainly not Elite level talents when he faced them.

Forgive me, but I prefer Heavyweights that destroy other TOP Heavyweights. Vitali's resume is poor, and he's clearly the lesser of the two brothers. Wlad's resume isn't exactly stacked with quality either.

That's debatable.

Nobody here is trying to claim that the Klitschko's are crap fighters, but even they would admit the lack of opposition in their era is a black mark on their respective careers. When people are talking about Haye as the man to beat them nothing else needs to be said.

Imagine Haye against the ''tier 2'' heavies of the 1990's, Tucker, Bruno, Mercer, Morrison - he'd have stayed in the cruiser division until he eventually packed in or got KTFO.

I don't have anything bad to say about Adamek - he was as competitive as anyone else has been with Vitali since his return, he just wasn't able to land enough punches to make Vitali hesitate..... but he was uncommonly brave and can hold his head high.

They would be forced to fight a much higher calibre of opponent on a regular basis, ones that actually resemble professional boxers and have the mindset and intelligence that a so-called top fighter should have.

There's fighters outside the top 10 at 118, 122, 140 & 160 that are easily better fighters than those outside of the Klitschkos and Adamek.

That's very sad :-(

Hide was timid, and not an Elite Heavyweight. Vitali couldn't even drop the same out-of-shape Lewis that Rahman disposed of despite hitting him with clean, accurate shots as he came in. VITALI IS NOT A BIG PUNCHER. He is a big bloke with weight behind his shots and a damaging puncher, but I could give you plenty of Heavyweights from the past I'd not only pick to last the distance against him, but to blow him out of the water.
