Is there anyone else slowly losing interest in mma? I think it is mostly due to the fact that I can't go back and watch fights/fighters I missed at the live events, on the internet. Also I am really hating guys like Guida hahaha, but back to the real post. What good does blocking old fights from viewers do for the Zuffa? I don't get it, do they think people are gonna pay them money to watch a 3 year old fight?
i hate clay guida, that fukk head needs a haircut and i hate his style. Its like watching a ****** jump around in a cage, its a joke
They expect to get every penny of their productions. I think they should allow older stuff to be released and plugin some sort of free advertising for upcoming events. I would help them get more viewers. For instance, lets say you have some boxing or non fans who sort of are interested in what MMA is about and want to catch some fights on YT, I'm sure they could get new fans that way. Ease of access is the way to go...they can continue to fight the illegal streams etc, but I'm not sure what they are gaining in locking up the old stuff. Maybe they are choosing the block all approach and don't want to have to decipher between whether a published video fits certain criteria and rather just not have anything available on sites like yt.
They show the fights on "ufc unleashed" or whatever on Spike after a month or two, but you can download the whole event and prelims from torrent websites. A friend of mine has never paid for a PPV and has never had to wait past noon sunday to see the fights.
Yea thats what I'm saying. I know ALOT of people who watch mma because of youtubing older fights. You are right they could do it but I just don't understand why they don't. It puts people off more then it brings them in.
The only time I get bored with it is when lay n pray wrestlers ruin the spectacle. I do NOT blame these wrestlers, as of course they will try to win with minimum danger to themselves, that is completely understandable, but there should really be a rule-change or a scoring criteria change to guard against this. It's boring and not very skilled, and no-one in the world seems to enjoy it.
I don't get Spkie TV and I don't really want to do torrents. I just think that its such a pain in the ass to watch fights now-a-days that its starting to be not worth it.
Anyway, to answer the question, there are times when my interests wains a bit, but that's partially due to some fights that are decided by what I consider to be really lousy rules and the fact that I have stopped training. I don't know when or if they'll ever fix the rules, but I'm going to get back into training in the next two weeks, so it should pick up for me.
They could do stand-ups more if nothing is happening on the ground. As of now the ref lets them waste 3 minutes a round on just laying there. but that isn't really my point its more to do with ability to watch past fights.
Completely agree dude. My interest in MMA is waning. I found last nights event completely disinteresting. Apart from JDS and Carwin the card in my opinion was mediocre. Matter of fact i expected a KO from either guy and that never happened either. The shameless marketing though is too much stomach. JDS is undefeated according to the UFC. Undefeated in the UFC that is.... Carwin is the best grappler he has faced according to silly bollocks and Rogan. Really? Nelson and Gonzaga don't count? And who's seen Carwin's grappling in the Octagon? I sure haven't. For me it's like watching ECW but without all the drama laughs and story lines.
Sometime's i wish the ceiling would fall on that cretins head. He's been calling the UFC dam near since it started. And in well over a decade he's still a clueless ****wit. Id give my right hand to see him and Bruce Buffer face raped by a royal rumble with Prime CC Fedor Wandy Igor Kerr and Nog finishing them off with double arm bars tearing their arms off and then bashing them with the soggy bits.
