the kessler win was a great result for ward - but everything most people are saying about him now is based on one fight. but he is a super 6 fighter and we are gonna know everything about him at the end.

Kessler was the guy of the division before the tournament...Many have rated Kessler very high before the tournament so now Ward outclasses him, Kessler is considered a Euro hypejob now???:patsch

I'm bumping this thread once Ward outclass Green.:yep

Green is a bit of a front runner once he sees that his power can't hurt you he falls apart and goes into a shell almost lost as what to do next. I expect Ward to thoroughly outbox and outclass him. With that said Ward is legit almost like a poor man's Hopkins, he's now my pick to win the whole Super 6 tourney.

Ward is a LOT like Hopkins. More than most people know, I think. I was never a huge Ward fan and always liked Dirrell better, but what I've seen out of Ward recently shows me he's one of the most cerebral fighters in the game.

    i'm not sure

hav'nt seen much of ward to be honest
only really watched the kessler fight lets not forget mikkel was not mentally
in the fight , slow and basic and blood clogging his eyes up ?
ward fought a clever but dirty fight darting in and out and using his head
    and elbows for defence.
kesslers mechanical style made ward look good.
looking forward to seeing him against green ???

I'D give Dirrell a good chance of beating ward tho
    with his height/reach/footwork
    maybe ???

I also see a little bit of Hatton in him. Crazy as it sounds, the parallel is that while they could box, each guy ha absolutely no qualms about mugging you and milking the hell out of that aspect in their home towns. I want to see how he'll adjust if a ref won't let him do that against a top-caliber opponent. If he never leaves the US, that might never happen because some guys can get away with murder their entire careers.

The Super Six hometown fighters are undefeated thus far, and that's no accident. Ward's got talent, but I want to see if he can be the guy to win on the road in this tournament. Until that happens, I still think highly enough of him to consider him in the top group of fighters at the weight...him or Bute is the logical choice for #1 there for the time being.

I agree the guy is a thinking man's fighter like Hopkins. He beats Dirrell because of that.

Agreed. Even with the way he lunges with some punches is really similar to Hopkins.

Only problem is HOME had nothing to do with that ass whipp'n he put on Kessler.

It seems to me that people can actaully see that Ward is going to be a big deal in boxing and they are getting in on the hating at the ground level. His isnt a dirty fighter, I said before the fight with Kessler that there would be some headbutts, its more to do with the styles then anything eles. Kessler throws his punches while moving forward, Ward stays in the pocket as fighters throw punches at him and looks to counter. That means headbutts.

The feeling that Green will upset Ward is really "WANT" and not a "FEELING". Some already just want to see ward lose, and honestly I dont get it. Ward seems to be a great kid, very humble and respectful.

Yeah sometime around the final fight, ending with his arm raised one last time, you might be wise to relent on him. If Kessler would have done something in the fight besides stand in front of Ward with a look a bewilderment he might not have been in position for all those headbutts.

Ward will use his head because his personal referee in his home town will allow him to do anything he wants. He will probably disq. Green for punching back. This fight is a set-up in Ward's home town with Ward's referee and judges. He will cheat, watch and see. Ward refused to fight in the tournament unless he got all his fights in his home town. Who else gets to do that?

Kessler "made" Ward look good. I got a feeling a lot of fighters will "make" Ward look good when all is said and done.
