Bully I don't see any "fools" "knocking" anyone. Any comments I see are fair balanced and accurate. Shanes advise in the corner WAS bad, Billy ..and if you don't see that then you have a problem with your own judgement, sorry.

For example specifically between the 8-9th and 11-12th rounds Shanes advice WAS bad.
In general he failed to gee up Carl and motivate him overall. I like Shane - but that doesn't stop me from calling it as I see it.

Although Shane can come across like a smarmy personal trainer from a swanky gym, you're going too far with that suggestion.

When your guy needs a KO to win, how the **** can the words " use your feet" with no reference to needing a KO be taken out of context. For ****s sake, he may be a great trainer and maybe he just had a bad one but don't try and rewrite history!

since when did you become an expert on coaching/corner work Len? Exactly how many fight have you worked the corner, let alone world title fights, your making a dick of yourself with your comments has clearly you have never been in or likely to be in Shane's position.
Come back when you actually know what your talking about

I can kinda see where Len is coming from but that does not mean i really agree with him.

For me the problem was the prep for the fight, it seemed like Framptons team did not entirely prepare for a Santa Cruz that was gonna box him staying on the outside (to be fair i dont think anyone really thought that would have been his gameplan). I think they assumed that Santa Cruz's gameplan would have been much like the 1st fight that did not turn out to be the case. However I dont think that was solely the only problem i think Carl also had a bit of an off night and he knew it in the ring at the time. Most rounds his body language from about round 4/5 onwards didnt suggest one carrying that much confidence. It happens especially in one of night events where it just doesnt click you have days like that in gym much the same as you can come fight night.

His team need to dust it off, more can be learned from mistakes, comeback and try and do the business in the third fight.... Lets also not foget that Leo Santa Cruz aint exactly a mug !!!

By the same pathetic argument, you can't argue about politics unless you're an MP or comment on a film unless you've produced one.
The guy is a Frampton fan and a boxing fan - he's fully entitled to his opinion.
I, along with many others, was bewildered with the advice from young McGuigan.

No way Frampton was going to KO Cruz. It would be ridiculous advice if he advised Carl that.
The gamble was to win the round with his feet and go to the scorecards.

You 'think' You "think" - heres the thing Billy instructions in the corner are supposed to be short and simple and to the point. Not some waffle you need to "interpret" or which could mean one thing or maybe the other!
It was a critical point in a critical career fight ffs!

Stop being childish. You dont need a mechanic to tell you when you've got a flat tyre Billy!

My posts it the Irish thread prove I recognised signs of Carl being in trouble as early as the first round.
At no stage did I see Shane come up with a strategy to combat LSCs tactics.
At no stage did he make even a passable effort to motivate Carl, fire him up etc
After the 8th - a round Carl clearly won, Shane told him he'd lost the round! Carl, duly demoralised, went out and predictably lost the 9th! Well done Shane.
Going out for the 12th - when Carl could still have won the fight; but needed at least a knockdown to win, Shane told him to stay away and use his feet. Well done Shane.

When the chips were down, when it mattered most Joe Gallagher and Shane McGuigan left their fighters down. Fact.

You need to get over feeling like you have to defend fellow trainers no matter how poor they are. You were the same way about Joe Gallagher after Frampton beat Quigg.

He's too scared to criticise any trainer or fighter. Presumably for business reasons as he wouldn't want to offend anyone useful for sparring etc.

But if that's the case it's pointless commenting on a message board.
