Billy remember WHO is the 'coach' here? HELLO! Get real!
Mind you if he loses a third LSC fight the cracks could start to appear...

Anyway you've yet to explain why you never find fault with fellow coaches no matter how obvious it is they got it wrong?

Groves couldn't do anything else except improve after Paddy Fitz, he'd regressed massively after leaving Booth, and paid no attention to what Paddy told him anyway.

Murray was way past his sell by date, and fighting at SMW.

Frampton has done nothing differently to any of the fights he had before Shane arrived. He is a product of Gerry Storey, a trainer who has proved how able he is on numerous occasions over the years, and not somebody that fell on his feet by adopting three proven fighters.

I do agree about Haye though.

The 8th was a clear Frampton round?
    Compubox had it:
    Total punches Landed/Thrown
    11/63 Frampton
    18/78 Cruz

    Power Punches Landed/Thrown
    9/45 Frampton
    15/45 Cruz

Old Billy goat likes to pretend that he knows more than he lets on when it comes to coaching and that only those on the inside know the mechanics of the sport. It boosts his ego to pretend that he is in the exclusive club of those in the know. When in reality, any tom dick or harry can take up coaching with a little bit of practice and going through drills.

It's having the intelligence and adaptability that separates the best from the run of the mill old school dinosaurs stuck in their ways unable to venture into new avenues for fear of experimenting with new ways unfamiliar to what they were taught.

As for Shane, I've said many a time, that the man is a fraud.

If I had the desire I would do it, it's hardly an advanced profession. And believe me I would no doubt be a more credible trainer than some of the jokes I see on the television, stealing a living - yelling nonsense at their fighters to wait until their opponent tire or keep doing what you're doing when the game plan is clearing not working. While subjecting them to unnecessary archaic boxing drills in the gym that serve no purpose other than to bolster the coach's ego.

It's this very poor standard of British coaching that we see today as to the reason why we witness individuals like Nick Blackwell end up in comas.

Perhaps wee Finbar will hold some interviews for the coaching job and another family member will prove the outstanding candidate.

I never intended this to degenerate into a forum for idiots to put the boot in on the McGuigans. My point was simply that Shane DID make mistakes and that I was annoyed at Billy for blindly defending him no matter what. Shane got it wrong a few times in one fight, big deal.lets move on with our lives.....
