Anyone else notice on 24-7 episode 3 Floyd Mayweather wore padding on his ribs??

His pad is on the left. What side was his rib injury on?

Boxers wear pads nowadays. They cover the ribs , liver, and kidneys during sparring.

 

Floyd had a near career ending rib injury. If you look closely he has a loose rib that visibly sticks out.

 

Cant that be fixed somehow then? If I was ortiz I would throw monster right hands on that rib the whole fight.

 

Are those not the Rebok athletic shirts??? Im pretty sure all of them come with that padding

 

if it's true, then ortiz can certainly take advantage of this. even if it's physically healed already, it could still have a psychological effect on floyd if ortiz hit it.

 

If that was a flaw in his armor I dont think he would be foolish enough to expose it on national television. Its probably just a precautionary move for sparring because as you know, hes sparring with some big fighters and those sessions can get pretty rough.:bbb:bbb:bbb

 

It's padding that he normally wears, injured or not. That whole rib thing in preperation for JMM was bull, in my opinion. He's fine. And he's probably only wearing it on his left because that's the side he tends to show off in his stance. His sparring partners probably target that area all day, and I suppose it's sensible to have it covered so that he doesn't sustain too much damage before the fight.

 

Didn't in one of his fight hype interviews he show the rib injury?

Still remember when he showed the shorts he had made for pac fight in some garage and he showed his rib, it looked pretty bad.
A solid hard shot to the ribs will hurt like hell, I once sparred with a light heavy amateur and he hit my ribs so hard I couldnt breathe for a minute, they ended up being very bruised and I couldnt even exercise properly for like 6 weeks.
If his rib is really a little loose and sticking out it is a potential weakness.
