high guard coming in like a shield, popping tito with straights, It very much looked like a more competative version of winky vs. tito...anyone else agree???:think

if roy want to keep fighting he needs to adapt to his age, he doesn't have the reflexes he once had.

Can imagine Joppy and Vargas watching the fight and berating themselves for not doing the same thing. The only problem with the Winky defence is that it leaves one open to body shots. Jones took them well last night but they would probably do some damage to guys in lower weight divisions.

   Are you saying that Trinidad's body shots should'nt count because Jones has steel abs?:rofl :patsch

Thats the difference from this fight in comparing it to the Winky fight.

In the Winky fight, Tito had just about near a zero workrate. Against Winky, Tito was'nt able to penetrate anything, thus his workrate was very low.
.....against Jones, Trinidad was finding the mark and getting past Jones guard.......kinda reminds me of the Jermaine Taylor haters and Hopkins lovers who like to point that Hopkins was picking Taylors shot off with his arms and elbows, when the truth was that although Hopkins picked off some of Taylors shots, alot of them found the mark as well....compound that to the fact that Hopkins activity level was **** poor, and you have easy rounds to score for Jermaine Taylor......
....kinda what happened here with Trinidad-Jones for the first 2/3 of the fight!

Good observation..I was thinking the same thing.

Wonder what Joe CAl is going to do when Roy goes into
    the "turtle defense" ?

When I look at Winky, his guard is alot more tougher to break than Jones....I dont know if he has thicker forearms or what.
I think Winky's arms may just be longer...at least the part from his shoulder to his elbow, because he keeps that high guard right up to his face, and actually his elbows in a tucked in position guard the sides of his abdominal area alot better than what Jones can do!

When Jones had his guard up high, Trinidad easily hit him to the solar plexus, that just was'nt the case with Winky as he had that tightly covered also.
I've seen very few fighters that can defensively protects various areas of the head and body like Winky Wright. Jones does'nt even come close in comparison to Winky in that dept.

NOPE not really, Roy did what any fighter would have done when you have a advantage of size , speed and strength , He merely walked the smaller, weaker fighter down behind a high guard..

There was little Tito could do against a much bigger Jones, Jones made tito look like a Jr middle ..
