I think so, they took £86 or something. I didn't really want to go to it but my dad insisted that we apply... I just want to see sports, not loads of ants walking around the stadium. The seats won't be great for the football either (if we get them) but that's better IMO.

The opening ceremony will be a great experience.

I was at the closing of the Olympic Games in Sydney (not in the stadium) but at the convention centre in Darling Harbour and it was a great night - fireworks going off over the harbour bridge and the place rammed with people from every country you could name.

Even if I can pick up a few more tickets for other events I will be happy enough - just to be around the events during the Olympics is a nice experience:good

i applied in 3 names and got fuk all for the boxing ita bloody disgrace i only found out today that i hadnt succeded
the whole thing is a example of how fuked this poxy country is with all its bull**** political correctness i mean for the past 8 years i have had an extra few quid a month added to my council tax bill to contribute to the olympics this isnt a hidden charge it actully states it on my bill i queried it years ago and was told only london borough people are paying extra so ive paid for somethin that i cant even go to yet some carrott cruncher in norfolf or anyother part of the country gets the same chance to go its a fukin disgrace
i fior one echo the sentimnets of the poster on the first page i hope its a disaster and i hope anthony small got his ticket!

its absolutely ridiculous it sounds like there will be no boxing fans there for the ****ing fights the whole system is just ****ed anyway. Luckily however, my mate managed to get 2 tickets to one of the semis so that will be quality hopefully, gonna try pick up a few more apparently i can get them through work (next).

The earlier sessions for the boxing arent sell outs, in fact they tend to be 1/2 full (at best) - so you should be able to pick up tickets during the week that it is on.....

that council tax thing is a bit low really, i mean it's not as if you can opt out of it is it??
do you live in kensington or somewhere??-
that's the sort of thing they don't tell you when they are building it up as the best thing to happen to this country for years-
it makes me laugh, the only time that the govenment even recognises boxing is when the olympics are about anyways, otherwise they couldn't care less, they tried to lobby to have it banned at one time,,even though it trancends most british sports in terms of history....

i wished i lived in kennsington mate ! until recntly i lived in the stunningly glamourous borough of barking and dagenham which is similair to kennsington in the way barbados is similair to baghdad!
u r spot on about the lack of support they give boxing i mean do u really belive that the reason boxing both ameatue and pro is excluded from the bbc tv is decided by the bbc ? i think not it comes from way above that

of course it does, i'd love to ask why the olympics is the only time that it gets coverage in this country and hear the stuttering responses--the bbc is in the pocket of government control.....

Unless you were charged 86.48 they aren't opening ceremony tickets.

Well the tickets were 4 x £20.12, which is £80.48. We applied for boxing and football (2 x £30 and 2 x £20) so I don't know what else it could be.
