Two rare talents who have been boxing's standard-bearers for this generation are colliding tonight ... yes, a few years too late. I've been watching Floyd and Pac fans go at it tooth and nail for years on this forum now. I've tried to stay out of it because I enjoy watching both guys. I expect Floyd to win but I'm going to be happy no matter who comes out on top, or how. I just want to see a good fight and a great display of abilities. Is that allowed? :bbb
In pure boxing terms i like them both a hell of alot, never miss either of their fights, Pacquaio is like a super warrior taking on and breaking down bigger men. Floyd a pure artist. I struggle to watch sport as a 100% neutral i sorta have to pick a side. And Floyds persona makes it easy for me to choose my side.
I certainly pick sides in a lot of fights and have my favorites, but in this case I'm more just hyped about the event. To me this is more like a Super Bowl when my Steelers aren't in it ... just give me a good game.
I dislike Floyd outside the ring, he's a ***** to me but I like him inside the ring. He has certain subtle skills I like such as his left jab to the body which is really effective for controlling the pace of a fight and keeping distance from your opponent, his uppercut game against the ropes where he switches from defense to offense quickly is underrated, and of course he has a beautiful the counter right straight. He has tricks like pushing people off with the elbows to create separation, he has the philly shell but also has a high guard for when he wants to come in and exchange. So he's cool in the ring, outside the ring I could never hang with him. I think that Manny is exciting in the ring, especially because he has a strong jab that can do damage by itself and can also set you up for the left hand so his jab can hurt you in multiple ways whereas some people only have a one-dimensional jab. He's also constantly moving at all times, not just his legs but his head is constantly moving and swaying side to side. Manny also lets his hands go, which is exciting. He's committed to several punches before stepping out, and he thinks ahead. Outside the ring, I'm still not convinced that he never juiced and it urks me that his fans cannot admit even the possibility of him having ever juiced.
THIS! I favor Manny for some reason...not sure why. The rabid fans of both guys have turned me off to both of them though.
I liked Floyd when he was really young and coming onto the scene........ now his total douchebaggery makes me want him to die in the ring.
Actually I used to like Pacquiao more but his fans drive me nuts. Well, a lot of them. I even picked him to destroy Oscar and flatten Hatton. I like them both as fighters at least. Still think Floyd will knock him out. First time I ever picked Pacquiao to lose tbh but had the same stance on it since 6-7 years ago.
