I dont see much discussion about this and I know there is a lot of sentimental love for Burns here but I think Nicky pulls it off. Nicky is the better boxer and was more impressive in the first 3 rounds against Martinez before he got Ko'd than any round Burns won which he slightly just edged against Martinez. Cook's achilles heel is his chin but I think it will hold up to any one big shot that Burn's lands.

+400 odds for Cook, not a lock but a damn good bet.

Burns for me. I might have a tenner on a round for an interest bet.

Burns is an average at best title holder and if they're both fit and ready then it should be close. But Nicky Cook's done nothing in the last 3 years to suggest he's ready for even a British title level fight. Backing Cook to win is complete guesswork IMO (unless you know him and how he's been training of course)

    No

Nicky's a good boxer so he can take it a few rounds on experience and skill but once Ricky settles to the task i'm sure he will pay the body in full. Nicky has never taken bodyshots well and i think it will be over around 6-8 rounds. Can see him getting put down around round 7 and clinging on then getting stopped by a bodyshot in round 8 and ref waving it off as Cook rises at 8.

Pretty much how I see it. He's not the hardest hitter going but it's all about levels, and Ricky's at a much higher one than Cook, thanks to his meteoric rise and Cook's dramatic fall from grace. I think he'll pick him off in the early going, one-two's now and again with the odd body shot thrown in, and then he'll start to let his hands go after 4-5 rounds, stopping him in about 8.

Hopefully then on to bigger and better things. I like Burns, but I don't like his promoter or the way his career is headed.
