Going to a big event fight is very exciting if you have the ringside seats. Mingling amongst celebrities and other fighters is a lot of fun no to mention you hear the sounds of the punches landing.

That being said nothing beats the television view and I always rewatch the fight after the fact. I like to listen to corner instructions and whats going on with the fighters between rounds.

I wouldnt go to a fight if I had **** seats, its just better to watch on tv. You go to the fights for the experience, its different.

  2. I just love to watch the fights however I can. When theres big huge fights like Mayweather vs. Anyone me and some friends all gather around the bigscreen with beers... theres hootin and hollerin when something good happens... its a feel good atmosphere.

But at a live event you have the whole crowd there and usually theres a megatron so you can see the fight better if yer seat is terrible. Its a whole different thing...its cool in its own way.

But theres also something to be said about enjoying a fight by yourself like the OP said. Fat beer in hand, maybe a joint... all is good. Those moments are reserved for minor fights on foreign feeds.

My favourite fight experience was watching Hatton v Floyd in a sports bar somewhere in Houston. The place was packed, BBQ going outside, me and 4 Canadian dudes we were the only white faces in there (and I was the only Hatton fan). Had some great banter with the locals and when Hatton got KO'ed some dude started jumping around shouting 'that little white ***** just got KTFO'. Needless to say we exited sharply...

I love watching live fights too. Being from the UK you could go see one every week, domestic, european and world level, all within a couple hours drive. The amateur meets are pretty good too.

You can be a porn fan without wanting to witness it being shot live.

Edit: Boxing and porn are virtually the same thing.

    Edit: Yes they are.

Seeing the fight live is more about the event than the actual fight. Even if you have ringside seats (which I have had). You don't get as good a view as watching it no a 50 inch HD TV where the camera angle is constantly changing to give you the best possible view.

Any time I've ever gone to a fight live I end up watching it again on replay because I didn't get a good look at everything while I was there.

I've been at hundreds of live fights, but I seldom go these days. I only now go to watch Froch. Too many idiots about who drink too much.

Personally I'd ban the sale of alcohol at all sporting events but I know it's never going to happen

There's something to be said to being at the fight live. I was at the JMM-Diaz fight and the atmosphere was eletric. With that said unless your ring side and I wasn't I was in a suite you can see the fight much better from the comfort of your living room.
