    David Haye and Naseem Hamed

Mouthy Brit - trash talking - saying he is the best.

Big puncher - exciting - but can be very sloppy.

But - seems a bit luke warm on being a boxer - inactive - only fights once every 6 months these days for a pay cheque.

Both fighting away from home against the best.

Put off - having the most challenging and competitive fight of their careers until the very end of their careers against the best in the divisions despite the fight being mooted for a long time - Hamed and Barrera took about 5 years to finally happen after first being mentioned - Haye on a fast track route to retirement has taken 2 years for the fight to happen after being intitally set up -so even if they lose and the circus comes to a end - they can lick their wounds and retire with a career high payday.

Poor preparation for the fight - inside the live ring - Haye hasent fought for nearly 8 months - and that was against a very poor opponnet and his other fight before that was a further 7 month before against John Ruiz- sparring can only bring you so on so much - likely he may not be so sharp once in a competive fight against the divisions best and I expect Wlad to be too sharp for him. As Barrera was clearly more sharp and fine tuned than Hamed and that was clear from the very 1st round.

Haye likely to lose and drop out of the limelight to lick his wounds and never be heard from again.

Haye likely to be pictured in McDonalds or Burger King a couple of years from now - a bit depressed how his career ended - and unrecognsiable as he has bloated to 21 stone in weight as he lives of Double Whopper and Cheese and Fries and Coke and McFlurry Ice Creams and hasnet seen inside a boxing gym for years.:good

No. And Wlad hasn't either. Haye never fights that regular anyways.

As long as he doesn't eat Steak and Kidney Pie and medium chips washed down with Dandelion and Burdock I really don't mind.

Best in the division - is what both Kitschko and Barrera have in common - also both have solid fundamentals - nothing flashy - just solidly schooled.

The main similarities are between Haye and Hamed.

Pretty weak argument, by the time the Barrera fight came around, Hamed was cutting big corners in training and preparation whereas Haye trains like a mother****er and is never really out of shape, he is a natural athlete, Hamed wasn't.

Haye lacks that live ring activity though.

That extra inch of sharpness only regeualr live combat can bring.

His sparring partners can only take him so far.

There is nothing like active fighters - regualry fighting.

Haye became largely inactive after the Maccarinelli fight.

He looked a bit sloppy in the Barret fight.

He looked timing off and rusty in the Ruiz fight.

The better the opponnet - the more his ring rust will be exposed.

Their are similar aspects but Hamed was the man and clearly the best for a very long time, he got sloppy towards the end, whereas as Haye is not the man, hasnt got sloppy but has stalled on his progression.

The best fighters Haye has faced head to head are-

    J. Ruiz
    N. Valuev
    M. Barrett
    J.M.Mormeck
    A. Harrison
    E. Macranelli

The best Wlad has faced head to head -

    C. Byrd
    S. Ibragimov
    R. Chagaev
    L. Brewster
    Tony Thompson
    E. Chambers

The reality is this.....around 2008 Haye was getting better and better with each fight but this stalled with the M. Barrett fight...when he went on to fight Valuev it had been a year of inactivity so his performance was forgiven, 6 months later he takes on Ruiz...but looked sloppy...his natural assets speed and power were obvious and Ruiz was down enough times...but everyting was sloppy. Then he waits another 7 months and perhaps takes on one of the biggest hand picks in heavyweight history....A. Harrison...who is not even near the top 25 in the world....and is 5th best heavyweight in the UK.

In each performance...at Heavyweight Haye hasnt had one outstanding one yet...their have been holes which against better opposition could well be exploited.

These are my predications for Haye results in the last few years watching him-

    Predication Reality
    Haye Wkor4 E. Maccarenelli - Haye Wkor2 E. Maccarenelli

    Haye Wkor4 M. Barrett - Haye Wkor5 M. Barrett

    Haye Wkor9 N. Valuev - Haye WUD12 N. Valuev

    Haye Wkor5 J. Ruiz - Haye Wkor9 J. Ruiz

    Haye Wkor1 A. Harrison - Haye Wkor3 A. Harrison

The only top star level performance he had without critique would be the Macca fight, he was sloppy towards the end against Barret, bad and low punch out put versus Valuev, Really Sloppy against Ruiz, real low out punch with Harrison.

The main problem I have with Haye, is he talented enough with his power, speed and reflexes to be able to beat the guys he has beaten in even more convincing fashion instead he left me with the feeling that he is not the same hungry coming up and constantly improving.

every 6 months would be a step up in activity for haye tbf, and im really not sure the audley 'fight' actually counts

i dont think theres really any similarities apart from i agree if haye loses he'll probably just disappear and we wont see him in a ring again and itd be a while before he starts doing interviews and appearances etc.

Hamed was also a heavy favourite to win his fight against Barrera. And I don't think Haye is as arrogant as Hamed was, not even close. He just likes winding his opponents up.

Yes. Many aspects are similar. And yes Hamed can punch..... But Barrerra didn't have a glass chin unlike Wlad.

Also. Hamed was champion for five years. Had a family and kids, lefts his trainer and didn't really look that interested in boxing.

    Haye is still hungry.
